Hi All,
Was reading through my ultrasound and above the conclusions and summary notes there was a small note that says:
A small amount of free fluid can be seen in the uterus which may represent a small contained subchorionic hameorrhage...
Would contained mean its a bleed which has healed? I did spot for a few days during week 5 and tomorrow I will be 9 weeks...
I spoke to the Dr and he said it can be common and its only small... i am booking in to see my Ob/gyn (1st appt) and will ask him then but I am still so very worried... has anyone you know had this and gone on to have healthy babies?
:(

Has anyone gone on to have a healthy baby? Yes me!! I had this as well and even though I was terrified it turned out it happens to lots of women.

Oh, our little treasures, thank you so much! I have been reading some stuff which is making me sad and even more worried and your post has given me hope. Thank you for taking the time to reply.
I hope the words 'small' and 'contained' make it a little less of a concern for me :(
Thank you again!

:hugs: for you. Yes it is a very scary thing.
I had this happen with my last 2 pregnancies and both babies were born fine and healthy!
I had heavy bleeds with both of these pregnancies and thought that i had miscarried. The ultrasound that i had with my last baby showed that the bleed (sub chorionic hameorrhage) was larger than the bub and it surrounded his sac. I was about 8 weeks at this stage. It was extremely scary, but i was also told that this happens to lots of people.
Please don't stress. Your bub will be just fine!
Good luck with your ob:thumbsup:

Manz and Mumof4 ~ thank you so much...
My DH could see how worried I have been and he just rang the Ob/Gyn office...the lady was lovely and said for me to call her and explain my concerns...she said she would try and reassure me and talk me through whatever is worrying me... i'm booked in for 18th so only a week to wait...she said if it's a big concern for me she would book me in sooner... so it's nice to know there is some support there.
Thank you for all of your advice... it helps to know I'm not alone.

Hi we just had our scan done yesterday and they found the same thing.
I had a bleed at about 5 weeks and they are saying it might have been this.
She said not to worry they expect to see this sort of thing in early pregnancy, it doesnt indicate any future bleeding will happen or that anything negative will occur because of it.
I'm not worried at all.
And at this early stage of devlp there isnt much we can do about it anyway.
So chin up honey :hugs:
yip at least 50% or pregnancies will have a subchronic haemorrhage in early pregnancy, most don't even know they have one unless they have a early pregnancy scan, cause in most cases the bleed is actually gone by about 12-15wks
i've had a subchronic haemorrhage with all my pregnancies (bar the first cause I didn't have first scan till 16wks) and the bleed had never caused a problem (apart from with DD when I bled truckloads from 12wks onwards) but as you can see she's here so it didn't cause any problems

Susmamma & TrulyBlessed :hugs: thank you...
I hadn't realised it wasn't as rare as I had thought... i did have spotting in Week 5 for about 5 days... only the size of a 20c coin and hopefully that is all it is...
Your reassurance is appreciated more than you know... thank you again

My gp also said what truly blessed told you. Apparently all that will happen would be a scar:hugs:
