Hi All,

I'm looking at both the Phil & Ted's E3 and the BabyLove Tribute Tandem. Before I spend the money I'd really like to hear from people that have used either. I'm after both good points and bad points. I've seen the other thread on the Phil & Ted's E3 so you don't need to repeat yourself here if you don't want to, lol.

I currently have a Valco Rebel and these are my reasons for not wanting to add a toddler seat to it and use that one:

Toddler can't sit/lay back and sleep in a toddler seat
It's massive and probably won't fit in our boot without being pulled apart into 3 separate pieces (it currently has to be pulled into 2 separate pieces to fit in)
Where the newborn lays doesn't lay down flat and isn't very snug or secure IMO
Not overjoyed at having toddler sitting up high in that little seat, would rather him be in a proper seat IYKWIM.

So that you know which prams I'm after info on, here are pics, because if you're like me you'll have no idea what some prams are called, you just know what they look like....

Looking forward to your responses. Thanks for your help.

Larissa :)

I have the Phil and Ted and absolutely love it!

I like the harness (I know other's say different)
The newborn can lay flat (bonus)
all parts including the material you can replace (if needed) so no need to buy a whole new pram because the material is icky!
Very easy to manouvre!
Lightweight
Handlebar is adjustable!

Cons
Things like the raincover and sun shade are extra not included in the price!

Can I ask how much the E3's are new and how much the sun shade & storm covers usually are? I'm looking at one on Ebay that is in my state for collection and don't want to pay too much for secondhand. Cheers

If i remember correctly it was around $650 for the pram new with the toddler seat!

The sunshade costs around $50 and so does the rain cover.

The sheepskin is $65 I think. I wouldn't recommend buying it though as we did and it really wasn't worth the money as the fleece pulls out very easily, still looks good though!

The other seat inserts are around the $50 mark too like the race seat etc!

The drink holder is $30 and the nappy bag is $80. I cannot remember the price of the pannier bags though sorry!

All the prices are an approx except for the actual pram cause I just looked at the receipt, so that price is correct!

Okay - I have a silly question. When you have the toddler seat on the front and have the baby laying down flat in the newborn bit - how do you get the baby in and out??

Through the huge section at the back it isn't enclosed at all! When you have the toddler seat on the baby is put in so it's head is fartherest from you so its feet are closest and you can actually see bub in the back section. I will try and find a picture of what I mean!

I can't find a good picture but on that pram you are looking at see the 4th picture or the 3rd the 4th is clearer though.

The part that is under the handle in the picture is actually all open it isn't actually enclosed does that make sense so when you are walking even with just the one bub you can see them when the seat is in the laying down position.

I have no info on the babylove. As you know from other threads I am not a fan of some features of the phil and teds so I don't need to repeat that stuff - but the set up for 2 is fantastic! The thing I love is that it remains the size of a single pram whether you are carrying one or two and both have sun protection. My toddler would sleep in the front and my baby in the back when they were smaller. Now they are both happy to go in either the front or the back seats in the toddler set up - although we have never been out in a situation where one has fallen asleep in the back seat, so I am not sure if it would be comfy or not (DD1 tends to walk everywhere so the back seat is her domain when she gets tired of walking).

Babies Galore have them on special this week. All the strollers/prams are 10% off. The E3 is $495 (I think) without all the extras.

Thanks Natalie

We went to our local second hand baby store this afternoon as they had a BabyLove Tribute and we tried it out. It doesn't fit into our boot very well and it's rather wonky to steer with just one child in it. I think we will (hopefully) go with the E3. Pity they're so damn expensive. After the speech I gave DH about how we needed to spend $700 odd on the valco rebel system and all the accessories I think I'm going to have a struggle on my hands now :o. It's just so damn hard with prams, until you've actually used it you really have no idea what you're in for, and especially with your first baby, you have no real knowledge of what features will delight/annoy you. How's my justification going girls

I think go with what you are truly happy with. I bought a sucky pram and I hate it. I wish I had forked out a little more and got a better one.

There is quite a few good reviews on ProductReview.com.au (http://www.productreview.com.au/?a_aid=01afaa51) You may or may not find it useful but there's a lot of other good reviews to go through.
