Hey Guys...
Wanted to browse the web for a new fridge and lounge suite.... i tried to log onto harvey normans web site, but its only taking me to the computers and electricals site  So i have no idea what im doing wrong??
Has anyone bought white goods, or furniture on line?? if so what was your experience like?? Is freight a major cost??? If you could let me know any good sites to browse for a fridge, and lounge... i would be much appreciative!!! :D

We had the same problem with the harvey norman website so can't help you there. I think the net is a great tool for browsing and getting an idea of what is out there and what you like rather tahn traipsing all over town! I personally wouldn't buy whitegoods or furniture online. For starters, you can often beat the price down instore. Also, I like to see things in the flesh, especially furniture. Otherwise, I would imagine a good place to start looking for whitegoods on the net would be manufacturers websites (simpson, whirlpool, westinghouse, lg, etc, etc) rather than actual shops.

Retravision site is good because it lists prices too (but you can beat them down lots when you wave money in front of them)

If you are looking at white goods and someone in the family is a member of a union it is worth looking at www.unionshopper.com.au - if you find the best price for your model and make they will then shop around and find the best price available for you. Choice magazine also offer a similar service if you are a member of their website. Doesn't help with finding what you want but does help with getting the best price.

For lounges - check out www.ikea.com.au - they have a pretty good range and you can choose colours etc - although I don't know if you can order on line yet, still helps with the decision making and research.
