Hi, I am trying really really hard to lose weight and have so far lost 8kg. I am exercising like MAD.

Is anyone else doing a lot of running/whatever?

I am running, biking, playing netball, swimming and doing weights 3x per week. I wish I wish I wish I hadn't of thought eating **** for such a long time was good, and I wish I had eaten well, and exercised all this time! Life is too short for regrets!

I am 1 week into a 12 week challenge, and was wondering if anyone out there is doing a similar thing? :smiliedance:

good on you! you are doing tremendously well! you must have a great support networkm or family. I too have been excersising like mad, and although its exhausting at times, i have discovered that it's the ONLY thing that works for me, along with a healthy diet. I do Bikram yoga (a 90 min yoga session-not for the faint hearted- in a 39 degree heated room-burn calories burn) ever second day and every other day i do les mills PUMP at the gym and i fit it in about 2 4km walks but i always have sundays off. I have lost 8kg also over about 2 months...only 4 to go and i will be below my pre baby weight and fit which feels great. do you find excersising addictive?

Wow, that's great. I tried Bikram Yoga and do like it, but too difficult to add into my schedule. I found I need to do things at home, or around home. I am originally from TOwnsville, so exercising in that heat seemed normal to me.

I wish I only had 3kgs to go. But someone said to me, you lose weight brick by brick, not whole rooms at a time. Which seemed logical to me since we have just renovated our house!

It sounds as though you are doing as much as me, as Sunday is my rest day too...

I joined Fernwood Womens gym in December 2004, i have so far lost 9kg and 6% body fat. I have a personal training session (weight work) once a week and do a weights program and cardio classes also during the week. I was going 5 times a week however now i am only going 4 times.

I watch what i eat and altough it is sometimes difficult to keep it all up due to the time it takes up i feel and look so much better for it! At 62kg (164cm high) i am happy with my current weight and am just aiming to trim up those problem areas (my legs!) a little more but I am not in a hurry to do it. I am enjoying the health benifits and the social aspect and the new friends I have made (the all womens gym helps with that to!).

My fave class is body combat! I burn the most calories (my top is 807) and I also enjoy studio cycle (RPM).

It's encouraging to see other girls out there who are exercising...I was getting a big worried getting no responses!

This is what my plan is:

Mondays - Friday: 5am - 6am Run 3km, Bike 20 mins, Situps/Pushups for final 20 mins (no babysitting required, everyone except me asleep:sleeping: )
Plus,
Monday 6pm - Weights in home gym (DH's) (DH babysitting)
Tuesday 10am - Swim aiming for 1km at the moment (DS at pre-school + DD at creche for 1hour)
Wednesday 10am - personal trainer for weights (DS at pre-school + DD at Nan & Pops for 1.5 hours)
Thursday 6pm - Boxing (DH)
Friday 9am - Indoor Netball (DS + DD in creche for 30 mins)
Saturday - Weights + possible run (DH)
Sunday - Free day :smiliedance:

I know it sounds crazy, but I have already lost 8kg, doing only 1/3 of what I am doing above...but I am lucky in that my husband looks after both children readily and says "go!". Quite possibly he wants me to be fit and healthy...but I want it more than him. I have always been a fit person and I have struggled with my weight for years - finding the time to exercise was always a problem for me, as I have always held v. professional demanding jobs where work was always a 7.30am - 7pm kind of thing! I guess this is the first time I have been able to make "ME" my job (of course as well as DS + DD). I absolutely could not achieve this without DH's support. When I exercise at night I always have the kids ready for bed (bathed etc), dinner ready to go and all is AOK!

I have just completed my 1st week of the above, and have to say I feel pretty good! Netball wasn't an issue, even though I had run the 5km in the morning...today I didn't go for a run, but tomorrow we are heading to the beach, so I might take the pram for a walk, while DS and DH play in the sand.

Fingers crossed by next Summer I will have a knock-out bikini on and everyone will be wondering how on earth I did it!

By the way...I had a front on, side on and back view full length photo of myself taken - this is what spurred me into action. It wasn't pretty!

P.S. not one morsel of bad food has passed my lips this week. I have never felt so motivated and focussed in all my life....
