How about a platter of carrot, capsicum and celery sticks with some low fat salsa to keep the health food police happy!

Here's an idea of some of the food we had at my DD's 1st bday:

fairy bread
little star bikkies with a paddle pop stick stuck on the end of them (to look like little fairy wands)
cheerios
homemade mini sausage rolls and mini quiches (gluten free)
Little fruit 'skewers' (we used paddle pop sticks and cut up cubes of watermelon, rockmelon and honeydew melon and stuck them on it! - worked really well... big hit with babies)
cupcakes decorated as animals
cheezels
sandwich triangles with jam, vegemite, egg and lettuce, and ham salad alternated.
birthday cake

I cant remember what else we had - but it all worked really well!
I used gluten free flour to make these things and sweetened most of them with honey instead of sugar.

we had fairy bread, ice cream cake etc. But the most popular thing was tiny chicken sandwhiches with no crusts. Cut up fruit was popular too.

Melon Balls!!
They look so good when you use Watermelon Honeydew and Rockmelon. Also you can pop them on skewers like kebabs for the big people, not littlies though!!
Sorry Briannabear, just red yours and you said the same as me...Great Minds!!

What about a fruit platter with yoghurt in the middle so the kids can dip their fruit into it?
