Usually it is about 14 days before you period but some women ovulate earlier or later then that so no body can really tell you when you are. What about using those ovulation tests?

Hi Alby. It is a myth that every woman has a 28 day cycle and ovulates 14 days before AF. A normal Luteal Phase (time from O to AF) can vary from 10 - 16 days and may even vary from month to month.
The most acurate way to pinpoint ovulation is to take your basal body temperature daily, but if not, then look for fertile cervical mucus - it normally starts off quite watery then becomes very slippery and you can stretch it between 2 fingers. That is your most fertile time.
You can have a look at my charts from fertility friend if you like (the link is in my signature).
Assuming you did Ovulate 14 days before AF, your most fertile time is up to 5 days before, the day of and the day after O. That is because sperm can live a few days and the egg can live 24 - 48 hours. So 27th Dec - 1st Jan you were probably fertile.

So 28 day cycle... ok, so take away the two week wait after you O from 28 (so 28 - 14 =14) so theoretically, you should O around day 14...
I, myself have a 28 day cycle, but I know I O on around day 12... just listen to your body and you will get to know what's what!
Have you ever used your CM as a means of finding out how "fertile" you are during your cycle?
