Hi
im so worried that the same thing will happen to me. at the moment going off my LMP i am 8 w4d. which was on track with my blood tests. But i have my first scan in 2 weeks and i hate the though of going backwards in dates. im so excited to be where i am at the moment and only want to go forward not backwards.
One of my friends is due in may. She had her blood tests done and they told her she was 12 weeks but when she had the ultrasound a week later they put her back to 7 weeks. so dont think you are the only one that this happenes too. im guessing that most of us will be pushed back when we get our first ultrasound.

Its strange isn't it?
I think I was always put back when having a scan. Especially with a dating scan. It didn't seem to happen so much with an anomaly scan (18-20 weeks).
Don't worry too much. Just means having a baby isn't an exact science. It is still only an EDD. An estimation.

this seems to be one of the down sides of having early scans... sometimes too much information (or information at odds with each other) can be a negative thing.
providing baby is growing well and has a strong heartbeat and all the bits and pieces end up where they're supposed to be that's the main thing.
try not to worry. relax and enjoy your pregnancy xx

I have had no BT during the pregnancy, but I had a dating scan due to m/c in December. My scan put me back 9 days, "give or take a week". That would mean that I found out I was BFP at 3wks or so. I just then put my own EDD around the middle - not the 9th, not the 18th, but the 13th.
They are not definate, so just go with the flow.

I think you shouldn't worry :)
They have all these numbers and measurements and they want everything to go perfectly to the schedule but it isn't like that, babies measure small, then they measure big, your HCg levels could be all over the place, every woman is different.
What annoys me is that they perform all these tests and then women worry when things are slightly left of centre, it achieves nothing but stress which is the last thing you need.
I have no idea how my baby is measuring or what my HCg levels are and I am not stressing about anything at all. I am happy to leave all the 'need to know' scans and BTs.
If I was you I would not worry, take it for what it is, a rough idea of what is happening. Growing a baby is not an exact science and we can't know everything. Leave all the tests unless something is actually of concern.
Try and relax :hugs:

sexy minx don't be sad, as long as the bubs is fine, don't stress!
Stellarella - you may not be interested in having scans and what not but there are a lot of us who do want to have them as we would like to see our babies progressing, make sure they are healthy... If you aren't interested in it than that's fine too!

:iagree:With AmyLou - although I respect the decision for many women to choose not to have these procedures done, it is a way for other women to relax somewhat. Sometimes for me it is better knowing an approximate in proof, than thinking/assuming something with blind faith. I have a tendency to be a pessimist by nature, so seeing that little fleck on the screen will make my world that much more a safe/happy place :p
That is why we are all wonderful - we are all very different, and we will all have different pregnancy/birthing/parenting experiences.

My only point was that a lot of the time you don't end up reassured as in the case of the OP.
Of course if you are happy to go along and have a 50% chance of being more stressed and unsure than before that is fine, a lot of people don't know they can refuse to have these tests and that are actually completely unnecessary. If you want to have unnecessary tests then that is entirely fine as well, but it's also OK for other people to give their advice, take it or leave it. :)

My understanding in the old days is that EDD could be 2 weeks either side of due date so I can understnd them chaning the dates.
As I was six weeks early on the 2nd pg I am not worried about what dates they advise. Just want the test to show a viable pg with all the right bits in the right spots and hopefully not twins;)

looking over the blood tests again it does seem to add up abit better now think we jumped the gun just abit, when we were geting the u/s done and the guy was doing the size of the sca and the baby and all of that there were 3 diff days/weeks 1st one said 6 weeks 2days, then he did something else and that said 7 weeks then he did something else again and it said 7 weeks 2 days, so not sure witch one was more right but if i stick to 6 weeks 2 days ( 6w3d today) ill be alright im going to try and get another BT to make sure hcg levels are growing nicely he said my gyno may want another u/s in 2 weeks to see if anything has changed..
someone asked if i had inreg periods...yes i do and i was on clomid to help fall preg witch i ended up falling on my own as my last clomid was 15th oct i didnt get a period after that at all and fall in dec some time.
im sure all is fine just guess i was sad yesturday as i went back in weeks i really want to get to 12 weeks to know all is safe but hey dont we all want that! no more stressing for me :hugs::hugs::hugs:

I dont know anyone who went on their due date so i wouldnt worry just enjoy it will be over to soon.

Hey sexy. I think with all the measurements they take they "average" them out to get a edd. It all sounds fine to me and :yelclap: on the heartbeat.
