Everywhere I look is the North of the River this or the South of the River that! For the past 20 years I have been a South of the River that,... but now I am a eastie, a hillian, a not north nor south... why is there not a thread for those of us east, the bayswaters the bassendeans, guildfords, high wycombes, kalamundas ..... you get my drift.... ellenbrook and surrounds have a bit of something going on and it aint that far away and would I ever get there from High Wycombe.... no way... Why .... driving through the swan valley... the temptation to stop and taste the wine along the way would stop me.... I am still a relative newbie... so am I just missing the thread....?

No Adele it just seems we don't count.

I think it's just that secretly we don't want anyone to come out and realise how good it is out here
(now you know you're speaking to a true converted Hills lover :D )

I was only driving through Carmel today thinking how beautiful it was - how lucky we are have this part of town literally at our doorstep.

Adele there used to be a group of us for this area until about a year ago but it broke up and some people left for another forum whilst the rest of us just go to whatever meets we want to go to now.

OMG for the first time in the 18 months I have been in HW I went to Carmel last saturday for a christening... Once I was past Kalamunda central...OMG quiet ... awesome.... (no kids in the car) trees overhanging the roads... Next house is going to be further up the hill..

Maybe, if there is enough easties we can make it something... alot of the oldies ( the grandparents) are or have moved out of alot of eastern suburbs in the last few years , we brought our house off a guy in his late 40's with teenage boys, there is new blood (so to speak) new life, I want to explore... I have only checked out three wineries... the swan valley could be good for years to us if we want to get together...

ps past 11pm... obviously I can't be the only one with a hubby that flys out... another week till he's back.. last week Newman this week Kalgoorlie.. there is a down side living so close to the airport.
