Hi Ladies
I'm hoping that someone might be able to give me some advice about my situation...
I had my first miscarriage in December at 5weeks 4days and my second in January at 5 weeks. Both my GP and OB have both said that it would be OK to try again this month and I have just started the two week wait after ovulating last week.
I went to my Chiropractor this morning (who is also a qualified Kinesiologist) and he prescribed some progesterone drops - he said my progesterone levels may be low and this is what is causing the embryo to become unstuck. Has anyone else tried this?
Also, both my GP and OB both say that they don't do intensive testing to investigate the cause of the miscarriages until I have 3 of them :gloomy:.
I know that if I was pregnant this cycle that there isn't anything I could possibly do to prevent a miscarriage - but are there things I could do that would be a helpful record? For example doing very early HPTs and if it looks the slightest bit positive getting regular blood tests to record my HCG levels.
Thanks in advance.
I don't know anything about that stuff but i wanted to wish you the best and good luck.
:hugs::hugs: sorry to hear you've had 2 misscarrages
its all debatable wether things will work to prevent misscarrages, i've knowen people to take asprin every day for the first 12wks and that has helped them
what your chiro said to you is true in some cases, that the progesterone levels just don't go up the way they should and stay up, this can cause miscarrages, but sometimes it doesn't
getting regular blood tests to check the HCG levels are rising can be a good and bad thing, not everyone is a textbook case and their HCG levels may not double as they should, so it can cause un nessary worry
i'll send you lots of sticky dust you ways :babydust2::babydust2: hope you fall preg again and that the little one sticks
good luck

I know a few women now (3 in total) who have found that their blood clots which causes early miscarriages (before 12 weeks). In all cases these women had healthy first babies with no complications but trying for their second baby resulted in multiple miscarriages.
They all had blood tests done to see if they carried the clotting problem. Two of them went on asprin (I believe it's a medical grade asprin so it's not one you can self prescribe) and they were fine, went on to concieve and give birth to healthy babies. The third woman had to go onto injections of warfarin (this is a blood thining drug) and has to inject herself once a day. She is now at 10.5 weeks gestation (she loses babies around 6-8wks).
I was surprised how common this blood clotting disorder is and how relatively simple it is to fix. I was also suprised to see it didnt affect these ladies first pregnancies.
Obviously only medical diagnose can confirm if this is the case for each individual but maybe you can ask them to do a blood test on you. Even if this turns out not to be the case for you at least it's one thing you can cross off your list.
All these ladies were also told that whilst the blood clotting issue might have been the case you cant rule out a genetic issue either but until they started on the asprin they werent able to work out if it was DNA or blood clotting causing the miscarriage.
Hope it all works out for you

.
This is usually the case. It sucks, but is typical.
I've heard of baby dosage aspirin being taken successfully by some women. It does help to thin blood if clotting is an issue. But I'd personally be hesitant to take this myself without bloodwork first being done to check clotting factors.
I don't know anything about progesterone, sorry.
I mostly wanted to say, hang in there. I had 2 early miscarriages, and my 3rd pregnancy stuck without any problems. In fact, at my first appointment with my obstetrician she didn't seem at all concerned about the previous miscarriages, as though it was a very common thing. Unfortunately I think she is right. It is too common.
Good luck with your TTC. :fingerscrossed:

Same here - after having no problems TTC the first time. I just made sure I kept to a healthy diet, reduced my caffeine intake, kept popping folic acid.
