Late Period

Hello,
I was just wondering how many days after a late period would you go to the doctors for a blood test????? As i am two day late (not normal) and i did a home pregnancy test this morning which came up negative... If someone could tell me how long they waited to see the doctor would be great...

Hi Sarah,
I'm Karena. I would wait another couple of days and then do another hpt. The longer you leave it the stronger your hormones will be if you are pregnant. If you get a positive then go to the Dr's. If you haven't gotten your periods in a couple of weeks and no positive go then and your Dr will be able to do bloods test and hopefully find out what is happening.

I have posted this in other threads so sorry if you have read this already, but I had negative pregnancy tests up until 4 days after my period was due. I finally got the two pink lines but at my docs appointment the following day I came up negative on his urine test. He took blood at the same time which confirmed i was pregnant with hcg levels of 256. Both the home and doc preg test were sensitive to just 25hcg and even though I was 10 times that the doc test didn't pick it!

I would say the same as Harry'smum - wait a few more days and make sure you do the hpt first thing in the morning.

Hi Sarah.

just a quick question. Did you go full term with that preganacy? I had a blood test done 2 years ago to see if i was pregnant and it came back Yes with a reading of 220 and he said the level is very low just see how it goes. i lost the baby at 6+ weeks :(
