I take Efexor 150mg and I am 12weeks pregnant. The studies that have been done have shown that efexor is safe to use during pregnancy

Whatever you do- DONT stop cold turkey. I would advise that you speak to your Dr ASAP though

Hi, when I was found out I was pregnant last, I was on Effexor 150mg. So double your dose.
I asked my doctor about it and he looked into the risks etc...
He decided that it would be best for me to cut down over a few weeks, and then switch to another med.
BUT we did discuss what I would do if another med didn't work for me (Effexor has been the only one to work for me well!), and he said that then, the benefits would probably outweigh the risks and we would talk about going back on the Effexor.

So in other words, don't stress, there is no great hurry. Don't suddenly stop taking your medication - make an appt with your doctor and have a chat about what you should do about it.

Don't stop cold turkey unless your doctor advises you to as the withdrawal symptoms can be a bit full-on - not depression wise, but things like funny vision, a but shaky, sleeping troubles, inability to concentrate etc....
So talk to your doc and see what they say and don't stress about it! :hugs:

Thats exactly what my dr said to me. I have Bi-polar so I was also taking tegretol which is a mood stabiliser. I have stopped the tegretol but still take the full dose of Efexor and so far everything is going along well.

With DD I refused to take any meds and while I was a mess I copped OK. However as I am pregnant and already have a toddler I think its safest for her, the baby and myself if I continue taking the efexor.
