I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas on where I can take my little boy during the day that doesn't cost a lot of money around the North Eastern Suburbs. He is starting to get quite bored with the usual stuff lately.

If I enrolled him in swimming classes and kindermusik and stuff like that, it ends up costing quite a bit.

Any ideas would be very helpful.

Have you looked into kindergym? I know our local kindergym was only about $6 a week which is cheap these days for an activity.

Holden Hill has a very good kindergym (tri skills) and it ranges between $6-$8 per session depending if you choose to pay as you go or pay up front for 10 sessions.

Tea Tree Gully Library runs free story time Mon-Thurs then on Friday morning they have 'baby bounce' which is where they sing lots of nursery rhymes and songs and do little dances etc.

I did Kindermusik too. We loved it but then we couldn't afford it anymore :( I found a lady who runs a dance school that started a programme for 1 to 2 year olds then another group for 2 to 3 year olds and it is very similar to kindermusik at half the price ($6.50 per class). Her name is Jane Grech and I went to her class at Surrey Downs Community Centre just off Golden Grove Road & I think it also runs at Greenwith community centre and I heard a rumour it might be starting at Holden Hill Community centre too.

I used to go to swimming lessons in the North East suburbs too but classes were nearly $15! I have now moved to the Aquadome at Elizabeth. Even though it takes 15 mins to drive there a classs only cost me $9.70. If you agree to direct debit it's only $8 something but I'm not a fan of direct debit personally.

Anyway if I think of anything else I let you know

I sent u a PM bout swimming at Parks Community, which only costs $8.20, and if u miss a lesson or two cos your little boy is sick, it doesnt matter. Every other swim centre i looked at you have to do make up lessons, no matter if they're sick or not. IMO that is a waste of money if u miss lessons and cant make them up when the school wants u to... if that makes sense...
