I know that this is high hopes, but has anyone ever had a false negative on a quantative HCG test????

I am over 1 week late, wtih some pg symptoms. Dr thinks that I am just going to miss this period!! Whatever that means.

All HPT's say BFN too.

Any similar experiences???

How late are you bigtum? I have read sooooo many times on here that they have not registered hcg in either blood or urine tests till up to 8 weeks pg.

sorry just reread your post over 1 week late. I would hang in there if you are having symptoms and just keep retesting. Good luck:fingerscrossed: to you.

Hi Sweetpea,

I am 8 days late. This is just so confusing. I am very healthy, very regular, and actually wasn't even expecting on falling until I realised that I was late - so how could I have possibly been too stressed to delay it? It is really weird.

With the others that you have heard of, what has been the cause?

Most of the ones that i have heard of have ended up being pregnant, the others (which is the minor) have ended up being delayed due to being stressed about ttc so i would leave it a bit longer maybe a week and then ask your gp for an ultrasound if you still get no positive results.

If you have been regular on your af the it is really amiss of your gp to dismiss it like that, cause it just can't go from regular to irregular for no reason.

I know thanks for that - I agree. I do feel dismissed.

I have an appt booked with my naturopath on Tue - he is great with fertility issues, so hopefully he can shed some light.

Sometimes, at one week "late" it can be too early to test. Very often, your ovulation can be delayed so that if you ARE in fact pregnant, it can sometimes delay a positive test because you're not actually as far along as you expect you are. I would wait another week (or even two) and test again.
It's also fairly common for doctors to dismiss a womans concerns about a delayed/missed period as "normal" without even giving reasons (this is especially frustrating for women who have had NO symptoms such as stress, weight gain/loss, change in exercise routine or diet, etc). It's YOUR body, and you know what is normal or when you feel something might be amiss. If what your care provider tells you leaves you unsatisfied, get a second opinion.
Good luck with some positive news soon (or at least your period so that you can start ttc again)! :fingerscrossed:
