Hi To All,

My DH & I are TTC # 2. Our DD took about 6½ years and the funny story is I made an appointment to see a Gyn/Ob and in the 6 week wait I conceived DD. Dh & I have been trying since about Sept 07 the problem is we only BD 2-3 times a month around O and thats it for the month.

We also use Wet Stuff as well.

If anyone has any suggestions on how they got their BFP in the shortest possible time it would be great. I will be 37 in April and DH is in his 40's.

Hi KimCam

I don't have any answers either - if someone did, they would damm rich by now! But your story is not unlike mine - didn't try that long for DD but did have appointment with FS and found out I was PG as I waited for AF to stop for blood tracking! I am 36 (just turned) and DH is 39 and we BD that same sort of time. My FS told me to BD more often although to keep to the Bding around O. I also take VB6 to help with my luteal pahase

As i said, I dont have the answers but like Helenwantsabub - if you found out let me now

Hi Kim - Obviously going by my signature - I'm no expert. But I have read lots so maybe I can share that with you.

* Is 'wet stuff' a brand name or just your way of saying lube? Because there are alot of lubes that are unfriendly to sperm and I have been recomended to try a brand called "Pre-Seed"

* Generally sperm need to be around 2-3 days old before it's mature enough to fertilise an egg. My FS refers to them as 'baby' sperm when they are only 1 day old and 'grandpa' sperm when they are more than 4 days old. So how we got PG with DD was he got us to BD every 2nd or 3rd day in the week before O and also the day before O rather than on the day of O. sperm needs to be up inside you at a certain point before it stands a chance with the egg and if you BD on the day of O theres a chance the sperm will take too long to get there before the egg goes floating by! We also BD 2 days later (day after O) just in case we got the dates a bit wrong.

* Has DH had a sperm analysis? Sadly timing isn't everything in this game. My DH has low morphology. He has plenty of sperm and they're all generally moving in the right direction but a large number are an abnormal formation. Unless sperm are the right shape and size they cannot fertilise and egg. There are sperms with 2 heads or too big or too small etc... It's all so very fascinating!

* Have you had blood tests or ultrasounds to make sure you are ovulating? And if you are have they checked to make sure they are mature enough eggs being released? I ovulate most months now but when TTC DD back in 2003ish they found I O'd some months and not others. Now I generally do O but there are some months that the egg is undersized or immature and not suitable for fertilisation, so it just floats by any sperm.

* FS reckons there's nothing really wrong with either of us as it's more common than anyone realises to be less than perfect in this area IYKWIM?

Hope this helped a bit

There is a great thread with some fantastic other ladies who are in a similar situation you yourself.

You might find some comfort and tips.

Hi To All,

Thank you to all. Mummynow that info does really help. Wet Stuff is a lubricant. I am going try Pre Seed & get some Vitex as well as take BCWG and see what happens this month. I am also going to try every 2nd day and see if this helps. I think it is a case of being organised.

I will see what happens this month and then maybe make an appointment to see a FS.

Any other advice would be much appreciated.

Hi To All,

Does anyone know where to get Pre-Seed. I have tried a couple of chemists but they do not know anything about it.

I will also talk to DH and probably go and see a GP or FS. From this month I am going to try every 2nd day and a bit more often.

You can only buy it online at lullabyconceptions.com.au

Hi Kimcam

Lubricants and saliva can create a hostile environment, so it is recommend you rely on your natural lubrication, and if not pre-seed is the only lubricant recommended when TTC.

Good luck!

There are pharmacies throughout Australia that sell it. You are in NSW aren't you? PM me if you are interested as I have a list of stockists in Australia.

Hi To All

Mummynow can you send me a list of which Chemists stock pre-seed. I went to the chemist today as I saw an advertisement in the Notebook magazine for Sylk a natural personal lubricant. So I bought Sylk it is made in NZ based on Kiwi Fruit with no chemicals so I will see if that works.
