Could anyone help please.

I want to find the best price to buy a new Emmaljunga Pram that will hold a toddler seat on top of the normal seat unit.

I don't mind how old the model is (I actually quite like the coronado model but the colours they have in Baby Kingdom are YUCK!) and I also do like the ones that can have a bassinett on too!

I don't live near any shops so if anyone has seen one in there local shops that they think is ok please let me know.

Thanks

Tren

I bought a Coronado some years back and is still going well today.I bought it in 1999 for around $500 and the toddler seat was $100. They have updated the prams a bit but i still prefer my model. Have a squizz on ebay as i have seen various models on there as well as different fabrics available. You can change the whole look of these prams by buying a new outfit for it so that might be a thought for you. They were $100.
I use mine as a second pram now as it is in Brisbane at my mums for use when on holiday.I bought a Peg Perego Milano XL this time and it is ****, it is currently back at the manufacturers for repair after 4 months of use.The only problem I had with the Emmalunga was the wheels, one lost its bearings but I managed to buy one of ebay for $5.

I think a new Emma is around $700-$800 same as the peg.

Hope that helps, cheers Jen

Thanks for the reply, sorry but I don't understand what you mean about a whole new outfit for it? You mean complete new material covering?

Yes, the whole lot. The main of it is just fabric with a board insert down the back to form the seat. You take this out so you can throw the whole lot into the wash. I have seen new covers made by Emmalunga on sale on ebay.I missed out on it but it sold for $100.
I have washed mine every 6 months completely and still looks A1. Very decent strong sturdy pram with incredible suspension. It also lays completely flat, i didn't get the bassinet as I felt I didn't need it.You can buy flat bassinet mattresses in BigW that fitted it perfectly and with the foot rest in the fold over position, it formed a roomy bassinet.
Hope this helps.J.

Emma's are the best arent they
Im so glad my mum kept going on about getting an older style pram as it was the best thing i ever did !
Now as JenNT said keep an eye on ebay as they often come up on there or have you got a baby store in your area that sells second hand ? I went to one of these near my mums & was amazed at the quality you could get & they are all checked out for safety before resell so you dont get a dud. They had some Emma's with toddler seats for $300 so start scouting around.
Otherwise i was very lucky that the one i wanted & had my heart set on which was $1000 & it was on sale at one place for $800 so i went to have a look & was still worried about the price. Mum was paying for it so i felt guilty asking her to pay that much. The most awesome thing happened though the one i wanted was not only on sale but they only had one left ! The floor model ! So this meant i got it for $650 i was over the moon ! Especially as we had been looking for weeks & this day i was looking at other brands in the end because i thought i wouldnt be able to get an Emma !!!!
So my advice is to shop around yeah it sucks but seriously its well worth it !
I get so many comments on it as its so great & like JenNT said you dont need the basinette as it lays down nicely & is very comfy for bubs. My bubs even slept in it during the day at home LOL as i couldnt walk upstairs from being sore heh.
Good luck :D

thanks guys for the time you are spending replying. I am a bit nervous buying s/h as I have always had bad experiences even though the cost is a big difference. I live hours away from shops .........................arrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhh and I LOVE SHOPPING so searching on the internet I am finding pretty hard (not very computer literate either)

Sounds like the $600 one was a bargain. that is what I am kind of hoping for so that I can get my last pram buy for my last kid. I have actually a toddler seat (studiply enough bought it new on ebay last week) so all I ahve to do now is buy a pram!

I like the look of bassinetts though I think it makes the whole pram look really classical and comfy. but I guess if I have to worry about the cost i better do without. If someone sees one in a shop somewhere please could you let me know. I have phoned around some Myers and David Jones but I have to phone ever shop to find out. no luck yet

hey guys. i have the latest model deluxe which i cant wait to use!! we went to have a look when i was 3 months preggers to get an idea of what was around and our local baby shop had recieved about 10, a few of each model that had been used as demo's in the warehouse apparently so we got the pram with bassinet insert plus a winter caccoon/sleeping bag thingy(emma brand) for......$650!!:smiliedance:
I have been looking at it for ages just waiting to use it!!
Be careful though as looking at mine and the way the bassinet is you wouldnt be able to use the toddler seat and bassinet at the same time....someone correct me if i am wrong. and you have to take the bassinet off to fold it down properly,so car space my be an issue there too.
Good luck.
