I'm just over 36 weeks and my belly babe has been transverse for the past couple of months with only a couple of short breaks. I am doing what I can at home - pelvic tilts, kneeling on hands and knees with head/elbows down, using mediball to do circles and rocking, visits to the osteo... Can't seem to budge this bub! She is very comfy in a wide berth following twins. I have a moxibustion session coming up and am considering external version - I will do absolutely anything to avoid c/sect short of poking out my own eyes.

Tell me your story if you had the same situation - I would love to hear how you went, if/when babe turned and what encouragement you thought worked.

DS2 was trasnverse for most of the time, I looked really funny (well my tummy did anyways) he did eventually turn upside down (should say the right way round) by 37wks, he was posterior though,

what I did was the usual on hands and knee's trick, sitting in chairs backwards, but they didn't really seam to do alot, cause he would go head down, then a few days later back transverse again, he could never stay still, I think I was just lucky and the last time he turned head down he couldn't go sideways again lol

with DD she was breech right up till a few days before I had her, and the only thing that made her turn was laying on the couch, with my head lower than my bum (gave me headaches) so could only do it for 5-10mins at a time, took a couple of days of doing this to turn her,

good luck with turning your bub

 Duchessa-
wow, I can't believe how far along you are now- :) time flies!
I hope apart from a transverse baby you are well.

I used the moxibustion procedure to get Pearl to turn- she was breech at 34 weeks.
Would have been 35 when I started treatment and by the time I saw the Obs at 36 weeks she was the right way round.

My Obs was prepared to do the ECV for me if needed. Lots of people dismiss it but I trusted my Obs and knew she wanted to avoid a c/s as much as I did! I also trusted she would not put me or the baby in a dangerous position.

But I swear by moxibustion:thumbsup:
Each time I did it- twice a day- I could feel her moving around and to me it felt as if she was responding directly to the treatment.
The acupuncturist I saw said she gets something like a 75-80% success rate.
:fingerscrossed: it does the trick for you

dd3 flipped breech at 36 weeks, i went to get her turned at 37 or 36 weeks, her foot was in my pelvis, any way, she was turned, i asked not to be given the drug they give you... i have a roomy uterus;), she was flipped to head down with in a few minutes... i felt light headed for 2 mins afterwards, its odd not having a head jammed into you ribs...

but it went well... im scared of c/secs, so i would rather have had a breech birth if it didnt work, then get cut open:(..

hope it all works out... i didnt even know you were pg:o

Thank you ladies :)

Kazza - did your accupuncturist give you a moxa stick to take home? Mine is a 2 hour drive away and I won't be able to see her very often. I did see the osteo yesterday and she has actually flipped sides and has her head further toward my pelvis so I am thinking we still have a good chance. Nice to year from you :) - I must come and pop into the remote thread. I've been very slack :o

Bronny-Jane, I agree - I hope she'll go either breech or head down. My middie is happy to deliver breech at home, so fingers crossed we get something down.

Good luck

I tried heaps of things ...... bubs was frank breech from 25 weeks and didnt budge......

Did pregnancy yoga as well, which definitely got her moving about a bit ....but still no joy.

Didnt have ECV as obs recommended against it due to various other issues of mine .....

so I ended up having a c/s ......though it wasnt as bad as I expected - was disappointed but not traumatised IYKWIM

Best of luck, and I hope that bubby turns for you :fingerscrossed: and sending heaps of baby turning vibes your way :goodvibes: :goodvibes: :goodvibes: :goodvibes: :goodvibes:
