Does anyone know when the mucus plug forms??

I think it just forms throughout the first part of the pregnancy, then you lose it just before labour (I lost mine about 5 mins before first contraction)
Don't quote me on it though.

Just googled it this is what i found:
Once the egg is fertilized by the sperm, this fertilized egg starts traveling from the end of the fallopian tube towards the uterus. While it is travelling, it is splitting again and again until it becomes an embryo. When it gets to the uterus (around 8 days later) it implants into the endometrium (the wall of the uterus). At this time, the cervix is being "sealed off" with a mucus plug that will remain there (closing off the uterus) until around 38 weeks gestation, when you may have a "bloody show" and the plug starts to come out. Labor can start anytime after that.
So basically straight away it starts forming

I was going to post something similar as starmummy.
I found that it happens around the 4 week mark, so the second month of pregnancy.

has anyone else noticed that the CM they have is like the plug? i think i could tell it was being 'put in':laughing: or was i just imaging it?
