two courses clomid in one cycle ??

My doc had me take clomid 75mg days 23456 and today cycle day 10 i had my LH ,Eostrogen ,progesterone levels done and my doc said i need to take clomid again starting tonight for 5 more days (50mg) .Has anyone else ever done two courses of clomid in the one cycle ?? It seems unusual to me .:confused: I really hate clomid side effects .:(

This is highly unusual. CD10 would not show ovulation yet (ie a low prog number, as well as low LH), and all I can think is that they can determine that from your estrogen...but Ive only heard of someone taking clomid twice in a cycle after many days of unovulatory activity, not 4 days after you stop taking the pills! Are you doing this through a gp, gyn or fs? I would certainly question it...clomid is not something to screw around with....good luck! :)

Thanks for your reply . I am seeing a fertility specialist . yeah i was also thinking its so early to tell especially scince when i concieved my son on clomid i ovulated 15 days after a 5 day course ?? maybe ostrogen is really low ?? bit worried bout overstimulated ovaries .

Yeah, I can understand why you would be fearful of it, BUT it does help that this is all thru your FS and he/she prob knows what she/he is doing...i would question it and why they are having you take a second course already...but thats just me...I come from a medical family, so Im a little bit of a know-it-all! :)

Yeah i never heard of it and always worry about overstimulation . I had it mildly but was very painful when i was taking clomid for my first pregnancy and because i ovulate so late on clomid im a bit worried it will all kick in at once and be too much . my specialist says it fine and i need it my levels are really low .
