We are having a house warming/engagement party, and I have the opportunity to buy a heap of beer glasses cheap, only 200ml ones, but cant decide whether to or not!
Would you use glass or plastic???
Its just going to be held at our new home!

I always prefer drinking out of a glass..... especially wine. I do dislike wine in a plastic cup  But beer... I am unsure - i dont drink it.

i guess it depends on what kind of people are going.
i know if i have a party with just family glass is fine, if i have a party with mine and DPs friends plastic is a better option if kids are going to be around.
just incase someone drops a glass or if a kids get ahold of one and drops it.
i think i am over protective when it comes to kids and glass though :o, when i was younger i always seemed to be the one who would step on broken glass

Umm, my sister just had her engagement party and they provided some glass ones, and heaps of plastic ones, but most were drinking from cans or the bottle (ie cruisers)sorry I cant be more help!

at my engagement party we supplied both so people had a choice! but with the plastic we used colourful ones which seemed to make them altl more appealing then just white or clear ones...with cutlery we used plastic but got these cool ones that look like they are silver & they were great..again we used plastic colourful plates & nobody complained or anything so thats a bonus...
I do think it depends what kind of party you are having like if you are having a fancy party i wouldnt use plastic but if its fingerfood or a BBQ i would just use plastic

I would go plastic, and have a huge pastic bag up so they can put it in.
If you think some might complain, ask them to bring their own glass, and see how they react.
You can always wash up the plastic ones and use them again, my mum did on chrissy day and if one gets broken it doesnt matter as its not a part of a set.
You can get some really nice plastic wear nowadays.

I think we used plastic and glass for those who wanted wine and used plastic knives and forks and plastic plates for our engagement party.
I know I didn't really want to clean up afterwards especially if it goes into the early hours of the morning.

We used glass, I think it adds a nicer touch.. They all just went into the dishwasher and there were no breakages.. Mind you plastic wouldnt have suited our theme, so it really depends on that..

I'd say depends on the people coming and type of event -bbq or just nibbles and drinks type party. Most blokes seem to drink out of bottles these days Id def have glass for wine - its awful out of plastic. But do you have the room to store them all afterwards?
And I'd keep em outside, out of your new house:D
