Hi everyone - thought I might start a thread where we can note the time when bubs achieve certain milestones. This can be both a record for all of us October to December Mums and Bubs but also of interest to others as we all have babies at various stages of development.

Obviously it is not meant to be a competition...:no:


I grabbed this template from the july birth group thread and added a coupa thingsI figure it can be added to as we go...

10 weeks

first smile - 5 and a half weeks
first slept through night - 7 weeks (8 hours)
rolled halfway over - 8 weeks
found hands - 9 weeks
started sleeping through the night regularly (defining this as 8 hours or more) - 9 weeks (she's done it for the last 6/7 nights, I really hope I dont jinx this)
rolled all the way over - 16.5 weeks

Great idea Jackie! Though I really don't have anything to add just yet... :no:. Caden 'sort of' smiles, but I'm sure it's just wind... :rolleyes:. So I'll wait a bit for 'proper' smiles before I add something here... :D.

First smiled: 5 weeks 1 day (this was a real smile unlike the other 'windy' smiles... hehe!)

First laughed: 9 weeks 3 days (this was a real cackle unlike the lil' ha-ha's we'd been getting)

Rolled over - back to front: 14 weeks 3 days

Rolled over - front to back: 19 weeks and 6 days

First slept through the night: 9 weeks 6 days

Started sleeping through the night regularly: 12 weeks

Found own hands: 8 weeks 5 days

Claps hands: 13 months (yep, a slow coach :D)

High 5: 30 weeks 4 days

Waves bye-bye: 35 weeks and 6 days

Holds/grasps an object/toy: 19 weeks (but not for very long... hehe!)

Holds onto own feet: 16 weeks 2 days

Said first word: 35 weeks and 3 days (Dad-da)

Said second word: On Father's Day (and ironically was Mum-mum :D)

Started teething: 30 weeks and 5 days

First tooth: 31 weeks and 4 days - Bottom left

Second tooth: 34 weeks and 3 days - Bottom right

Can sit up (unassisted): 21 weeks (only for about 5 second tho' before he falls :D). Sitting up really well from 27 weeks

Started to crawl: 44 weeks (tho' did 'commando shuffle' backwards from about 36 weeks, and started to do a breakdance-type movement going forward from 41 weeks)

Standing holding onto something: 42 weeks and 4 days (pulled himself up onto his feet in his playpen)

Walks while holding onto something: 44 weeks

Standing on own: 12 months

Walking on own: First 'real' couple of steps on his own 13 months - still waiting for actual walking LOL!!! Update... walking on own at 14 months... yep a slooooooow coach LOL!

Drinks from a sippy cup : 26 weeks and 1 day - 5 months

Drinks from a straw: 32 weeks 2 days - 7 months

i wish kayla could clap her hands :no: instead she just grabs a hold of them....makes it hard to sing if you happy and you know it clap your hands :laughing:

I think DD2 has done it earlier, because she sees her older sister do it. DD1 loves to sing 'rock-a-bye bear', which she calls 'everybody clap' and also 'if you are happy and you know it clap your hands!', so DD2 sees a lot of clapping and it looks so cute, as she giggles when she does it.

DD has always been rather talkative but she just discovered that she could squeal these past couple of days. Made for a very fun dinner out tonight :laughing: Everyone around us eating their dinner and DD squealing at the top of her lungs and smiling. She also learnt how to blow raspberries this week (full bubbly raspberries) and is poking out her tongue (she found the tongue poking made daddy smile and so its been number one on the things she likes to do list).

I also fear we have started teething as my normally overly happy baby has been on the fast train to grumpyville a few times this week.

Will get around to doing the full list soon!

Rolled Over: front to back - 4 months, done 3 times then not for ages. back to front - 4 1/2 months

Grips toy for more than 5 secs: hanging toys - 3 3/4 months, hand held toys - 4 1/2 months

DD2 started crawling 2 weeks ago, got her first tooth about 3 weeks ago and literally fell off the bed (ours) for the first time 5 seconds ago!! Yes, during this post!!
