Hi I am in Hampton Park and i was just wondering if anyone in my area is part of a mum's group? I have a 2 month old daughter but as she is my second child, i was told i don't get to join a mum's group through my M&CH centre  If anyone is in the vacinity of hampton park (i am willing to travel a reasonable distance), and part of a mums group with kids around 1-3months ... and wouldn't mind a new member ... pls let me know  Thanks

Hi, I am in Frankston. Olivia is 6 1/2 months old so probably a bit older than you would have liked. You are free to join me and some of the other Mums if you feel like it. I have never understood why you can't join a mums group when its not your first. Crazy, isn't it about the children socialising too, not just first time mum stuff?

No, I really don't think the other Mums would mind at all. There is 4 of us that sometimes meet outside of Mums Group, so maybe you could come to one of them. We are a nice bunch and normally just meet at someones house.

OH, just pm your email address and I will contact you if you decide to come along.
Hi there,
I live in Lynbrook and am part of a mum's group which meets at the Hampton Park community house (atm, tomorrow is the last meeting arranged by council).
I'm not sure why you were told that you can't join a mothers group. We have a mother in our group who has a 2 yo as well as her 3mo. Perhaps you got the wrong person in at the council.
Anyway, I'm going to ask the nurse at the group tomorrow if that's Casey Council's policy, and if it is, why the other mum was allowed in it.
Maybe I will have some good news for you.
If not, I'll chat to the others and see if they're cool with a new addition. Or bubs are all around the 3mth mark. Although I'm not sure if everyone's into meeting up of our own accord yet - will see what happens. There are some nice girls there, so it will probably continue.
I'll pm you tomorrow night with more info.

Hi there bootylicious,
Hows it going? I am on Narre Sth - just next door. I am part of 2 groups at the moment, one through the council and one from on here actually.
There is the thread ' Melb. Mums March meet' this was our last one and was really successful and there was about 12 mums who meet up at Mitcham. We come from all over. But the children range from 3 months to 2 & 3 y.o.
It is great, and they meet every month - or try too.
Maybe check out a playgroup, rather than just a mother's group, I am quite sure you would find some, one has just started at Littlecroft Children's Centre near Casey Central Shops. Give them a call and see what it is about, I am waiting on some more information myself.
