Hello To Anyone Looking At This,

I am a 26 year old who has been married for two years... Just recently my husband and i started to try for our first baby.... But when i was 18 i had an abortion and now im scared that i am going to find it hard to fall pregnant as i remeber the people telling me that i might not b able to have children ifi went through with it.... I am very SCARED and would love to hear if anyone has gone through this (if not something like this)....

Im due to get my period tomorrow and even though it's my first month trying im hoping they don't come....

Hi sar,
I have never had an abortion but my aunt has had a couple.
I think about three in total. She adopted a bub out, then had an abortion, then she had 2 kids, then another abortion, followed by another child, then another abortion, then another child & finaly she had a to have everything taken out.
In total she has had 5 children, 4 of which she still has & 3 abortions.
Having abortions didn't effect her having other children but did contribute to having to have a historectomy later on.
From my understanding if the abortion you had was done properly, you shouldn't have any probs with having children. So try not to stress as it won't help you fall pregnant.
It took my husband & I over a year to fall pregnant with this bub. I have 2 children & have miscarried 4 times.
So just give it time. Best of luck. Hope to hear your pregnant soon. Will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Hi
I had a termination in August last year because the baby was missing a chromosome along with a few other problems.
I am now 8 weeks pregnant again and I fell pregnant in the 2nd month of trying.

Hi Sar
I have had two terminations in my earlier wilder days. Had no problem getting pregnant years later. It happened the first month we tried, so, as the other ladies have said, if you did take a while to fall, it is likely to be unrelated to your earlier termination. I wouldn't worry just yet. Many women who have never had one also take a while to fall.
Good luck!! ;)

I had two terminations last year, due to myself being on epilem, which can cause spina bifida, so i terminated, now i am trying to fall pregnant and nothing seems to be happening, i am really scared i have ruined my fertility. Help.

My sister had 4 kids, all while taking epilem. She was told it was safe to take while pregnant. We even have a history of spina bifida in the family. All 4 bubs were fine. It's pretty scary to hear that they could have been at a higher risk.

I personally haven't had an abortion but know of a couple of girls that have, neither have had problems conceiving. Both had had a couple of abortions each, one has 5 kids and the other has 3. The abortions were all between their other babes being born.

Good luck with your journey :).

I had a termination in my younger days. I went through the same as you. My husband and i tried for 3years and then fell pregnant had a miscarriage , i then had a dandc and the i fell pregnant straight away and my beautiful little girl is now 1. I think we dredge up guilt from way back when we made our earlier decisions but u need to stay positive and just remember that u had your reasons then and u have more than every right to fall pregnant again! This might sound really gross but i was talking to a fertility expert and she said the time to start trying is when u are between periods and you start to get that slimy stuff when you wipe after going to the toilet. Thats what we followed. So as soon as there is some discharge start trying. I hope that makes sense and good luck!!:)

Thankyou for your kind words and advice rammam. It was nice to log on this morning and see your post. You have given me hope, and helped me deal with the guilt of having the terminations, yes you are right we do have our reasons, thankyou for reminding me of that.:flowerz:
