At about 6 months I notices that DS was obsessed with fabrics of different colours and textures (mummy's little fashion designer).

I am in the process of sewing together lots of odd bits of fabrics in different colours and textures. Once done I am going to let him roll about on it, hold it and I will suspend it above his head like a parachute - holding it high above his head and letting it drop and waft down onto his face.

He already absolutely loves playing with fabric this way and we play peek-a-boo during this game.

The other thing I have is an inflatable barrel (or you can use a fit ball). I roll him over it, holding onto his legs. it head goes all the way down over the side of the barrel so it is almost touching the ground.

Both of these games I learned at Gymbaroo. The fabric is good for vision and perception, the rolling is good for his inner ear/balance.
