Ok so for all you smart asses out there I'm not talking about 'in a cup'!!!

I wanna know what makes green tea more palatable for you??? I can sometimes handle the citrus one with a couple of spoons of sugar/sweetner and let it cool a little. I haven't tried adding lemon juice yet but I think my next cup will have that (if I remember). But I'm really not fussed on green tea and usually have to skull it just to get it down.

USELESS FACT: Did you know that green and black tea are made from the same plant?!! They are just processed differently to make them green or black.

I like green tea as it is. Usually I put sweetener in it. Have you tried adding milk? I've tried that before, it's not too bad actually

Hmm yeah I might try that - thanks!!! I have my black tea as white and 2 so maybe I should just try my green tea the same - didn't even think of that . I've just always assumed you don't put milk in green tea.

I've even tried milk with mint tea or chamomile, also quite nice:thumbsup:

oh, and if you like chai tea, Aldi has just put out a chai green tea;)

I have found a brand at Aldi that is vanilla flavoured. I just add the boiling water and a bit of cold water so it is just warm - then drink it really fast!!! (at the same time thinking i'm drinking an iced mocha with whipped cream LOL)

kittykatz hmmm sounds a little like what I do!!! I've never tried the vanilla one - maybe I should give it a go.

iamLilysmummy that sounds really interesting - cold with apple juice!!! I might just give that a try. And yes personally I think its quite yukky too!!!! :barf:

borntobemummy I don't know what chai tea is. But the closest Aldi to me is 170klms away so I can't just run down there and try some anyway , bugger!!!

Thanks for your replies girls!!!! Those who haven't replied I'm still open for suggestions.

I buy a japanese style of green tea that has roasted rice in it. It has a lovely nutty flavour.

I also like jasmine tea, for its lovely floral scent.

Just put a teaspoon in a cup and pour over boiling water. Drink as soon as it's cool enough but still really hot.

I've never added anything to my green teas. I like the freshness of it. And the last thing I need is MORE sugar in my diet!

Ooh that sounds lovely!

Mellymumma if you don't like the taste, could you maybe take the tea bag out as soon as you're done pouring the water in, and drink it like that? Green tea gets a bitter flavour if you leave the tea bag in too long, personally I love that but you might find it easier to drink when it's weaker :)

Hi Aph, yeah I do try and have it weaker but have been told its not as beneficial if you don't let it steep long enough.

Nex I'm interested in the japanese tea with the rice. Do you know what its called and where I could get it?

I'm sure it's still good for you though, and it's a good way to get used to the flavour :)

I can't stand green tea, but force myself to drink 2 a day. Normally I just add the boiling water & forget about it for a while till it's cooled down a bit, take the tea bag out & skull! The mint one I find the most bearable. The vanilla one I can't stand & the citrus one's not much better.

I can only seem to palate Liptons or Twinings Green tea with mint. It doesnt seem to have that awful aftertaste. I also try not to make it too strong.

As to the green tea with rice....I'd love to tell you what it's called but the packet is all in Japanese!

You can usually get it at most asian supermarkets (you can usually find one in your local chinatown), Or specialty Japanese grocery stores.

You can usually see the roasted rice in the packet so it's not too hard to tell which one it is.

I like green tea, just the way it is supposed to be prepared. But I'm a bit of a tea nut I like all types.

In Newcastle we have this awsome shop called ironically enough "The Tea Shop" it has over 200 different types of tea. :)

I LOVE IT!! :D

Ordinarily I do not drink tea. I am a coffee girl. But I am willing to try anything in the effort to conceive. I bought Madura Green Tea with lemon. I tried it white with 2, like my coffee. Yuk. I tried it white, no sugar. Yuk. I tried it no milk, no sugar and boiling hot, ouch and not too nice either. Then I left half the cup as it was too hot to drink and I forgot about it for a while. Then I came along and saw it about 20 minutes later and thought, well I better drink it. So it was luke warm. And do you know I really enjoyed it. So now I do like Katelyn's mum. make it straight, leave it for a while the skull it. Well maybe not skull, but not sip it slowly either. It's quite refreshing really. I also tried chilling it in the fridge and that's really nice too. I have also tried lipton's green tea and apple and so far I'm not a big fan.
