baby comp coming soon
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey there all proud mums and dads in the next couple of months i will have a website up and running for a baby photo competition it will be a ten dollar entry fee and each month there will be a prize for baby of the month. The prize will be either a pumpkin patch voucher or fisher price toys. I would like some feed back on this and would like to know if any mums and dads out there will be interested in entering. There arent enough comps out there like this and this website will be australians only. Any feedback would be appreciated

i agree that paying $10 is fine but it can be a hassle if you have not got internet banking or a c/c lots of running around if you chose money order.

I fully understand what you are saying payment could be by credit card/bank deposit or money order thankyou for your feedback i know myself that i prefer doing transactions via bank deposit than money order rather than credit card transactions

You shouldn't have to pay. That sounds a little dodgy to me.

i assure you its not at all dodgy i will be putting in a huge amount of time and effort and it is also costing me to set up the website and to supply the prizes.

If I understand correctly, you won't be running these competitions as a business but as a non-profit fun thing. So how are you going to assure that prize values reflect the entry fee's collected. Ie if you have 100 entries in a month then presumably the collective prize values will be close to $1000? But if you get 200 entries then you have to give away more expensive prizes... logistically that might be hard to plan and run.
Another option would be to make it a fundraiser for charity. Have set prize values and any entry fee's over that amount go to a stated charity. I'd be more likely to enter that sort of competition.
If my understanding above is not correct and you're thinking of it as a business, then you need to contact Hilary (info@bubhub.com.au) asap about advertising on here.

I don't think that I would enter. I am not a very trusting person, in some respects. I would hate to pay the $10 and have it judged by a "non biased" person, when you don't really know if the winner is real or not. Does that make sense. The winner could really be no one, being internet based and all. I'm so suss on everything though.

I probably wouldnt enter coz Im not fussed on stuff like that, however Happy Lady makes a good point about whether or not the comp is legit.etc
Also I liked Miss Martha's post, perhaps a charitable thing would be good.
