Hi Ladies,

Have just had egg removal done yesterday and have been told that i cannot finish my cycle as my progesterone levels are extremely high and oestrogen levels high aswell.

I now have to go through two body cycles before i can attempt transfer of embies.

Has anyone had to do this before? It is the first i have heard of it ... Do i have a choice or a say?

Thanks,
Leese

Hi,

I had OHSS (ovarian hyperstimulation) when I was doing my first cycle and was also told that I couldn't / shouldn't have the transfer done and should wait a month or two before having a transfer.

I was shattered at this as it meant more waiting and we didn't feel that we had been given enough information on why. DH and I then asked a lot of questions and did our own research and decided to go with their decision.

I was kind of glad that I did wait in the end though as I just didn't feel quite right and my next AF was horrible.

It's given me extra time too to make sure that I'm eating well and ready and healthy as I can be for the transfer.

Good luck :)

Yeah, it took me by surprise, really wasn't ready for it. I had been mentally preparing myself for major change.

I am sorry to hear that next AF was horrible .. Not looking forward to that at all. I am currently back on the sniffer, taking tabs to bring hormones back down and injections for next 9 days to stop clotting. All with wearing sexy leggings to keep circulation up and running.

It just seems one thing after another with this....Definately a rollercoaster ride ..

Am seriously thinking about asking for transfer of 2 embies. Don't want to keep going through this again and again.:hair:

Hi Leese,

I had quite a time of it trying to convince my hospital to let me have 2 embies put in. They stated that because it was my first ivf cycle and I am under 38 (I'm 34) they weren't keen.

After many discussions and a full check of my medical and fertility history they did let me though so it may be something that you might need to push for if you still want this after doing all the research on multiple births, risks etc.

Like you, I don't think this is a process I can keep going through again and again.

Good luck, let me know how you go :)
