I feel like a pasta bake tonight, with chicken in it, and usually use a packet one, but don't have one in the pantry! (I can't go buy one as i'm an hour out of town ).
Does anyone have a good recipe, that's not a herby one, but more cheesy/bacony? And has vegies in it?
I'm just not game enough to make one up myself....being pregnant i'm fussy at the moment, LOL
TIA!

I usually just add cooked pasta, cooked bacon, cooked chicken cubes and mix up a tin of tomatoes with a white sauce (flour, butter, milk), then top with cheese. ITs yum and simple

hehe ok, well you can make it a white sauce and add some garlic if you have some. I also forget to add just chuck in your chopped/frozen veges too!!
So basically just use a garlic, white sauce as your base!!
Yeah mines similair....
4 Cups of Pasta (just cooked)
2 Chicken breasts
6 rashes of bacon
Tomato paste (or tom sauce)
1 Lrg tub cream
Cook the chopped chicken and bacon together...
Drain... then add a large tub of cream and either a couple of tablespoons of tomato paste, tomato sauce (if your desperate... it's still yum...)
Season with salt & pepper and taste to make sure your happy with the flavor...
If you like it more tomatoey just add more....
I know you don't want it herby BUT if you just add a 'hint' of basil, this brings the entire flavor out.... without the 'herby'-ness...
Put cooked pasta in a baking dish and add the chicken mix and stir around...
Add shredded cheese on top.....
I lived on this stuff when i was pregnant....
If you chose to give it a try, let mr know how you go....
The great thing with this pasta bake is you do not need the tomato at all.....
the flavor is beautiful without it....
Traditionaly the tomato is called a 'alforne'... Without the tomato its' more like a carbornara....
It's really yummy.... promise...
You can add as many or as little veggies as you like.... eggplants, zucchini, carrots are really yum, but any veg is fine...
