until after they have #2?
And if so, when are you thinking about having the next one?

I went back when Ebony was about 3 months old, and I will go back at the same time after having this baby (#4).

I don't think I will be going back to my full time job. I'm still not 100% sure though. I work from home now - so I think I will continue to do that.
We want to start trying for another bub around April this year.
I won't go back to the job I was doing as is was fly in/fly out in the mines so not really practical. DH and I are starting up our own business so I am already doing a bit of that from home and will probably continue to do that after #2 as it seems to be taking off.

I thought about going back when DS1 was 11 months but changed my mind and I'm going to stay home now anyway. I do bookkeeping from home and a friend and I have started an internet clothing business (nearly there) so hopefully that'll keep us going and maybe DH won't have to go back to 'real' work either. We also just help out a friend in his restaurant too.
Twitch what did you do and what's your business you've got now?
Nosey little B I am! lol
Back to study in March and off to work end of next year after I finish Uni.
Would love another bub right now, but no room in the car or house for a 4th, and DH isnt too keen, will just have to see (especially as DD keeps reminding me Im not getting any younger).

jacks mum: whats it like doing bookkeeping at home. i was basically doing that for my ex-boss until he decided he didnt need me AT ALL. i was thinking of starting my own bookkeeping business but not quite sure how to go about it.
 that's ok Jack's Mum, I love hearing what everyone did BB (before Bubbas).
I did Human Resources for Mining and Construction as well as Office Management for Construction. I worked on the Fertiliser job in Karratha then was head hunted by Caltex for their Lytton refinery in QLD.
And now... My DH is a brickie by trade but has been a Building Supervisor for about 2 years. I have always wanted him to have his own business cos there's not much he can't do around the house so we've started up a home maintenece business. I take the phone calls from home and book in the quotes and jobs and he does all the "hard work". He gave his notice at the Supervisor job today as we have work for our own biz coming out our bot bots.
All good!
I don't have a job to go back to, so i guess i don't know when i will go back to work or where i will work!
I was a PA in a recruiting firm and the partner who i was PA to retired just a couple of weeks before i was due to go on maternity leave and as i didn't want to work for the other partner i resigned instead of going on leave.
Was toying with the idea of finding work again as MIL originally volunteered to mind DD if i wanted to go back to work but when i brought it up last week she has changed her mind and says DD is too much of a handful for her to look after....hhhmmmmm.
So think i will leave going back to work till after baby number 2 (we only want 2) but haven't even decided when we want to start trying for that one so might be a while.

It's great, although you either have to be organised with good time management (which I'm not to flash with) to get the work done while bubs is asleep.
It was easier when DS1 was little but now with the 2 of them, they don't always overlap with sleep and Max seems to need more attention than Jack ever wanted so a bit harder.
I am lucky though that mum has her own accounting business so I seem to get clients from her and I only have 3 at the moment but that's enough for me with the boys. I'm lucky enough too that the clients I have are happy for me to pick up of either and afternoon and drop off the next morning or pick up in the morning and drop off that afternoon or pick up Fri arvo and drop back mon am which suits me.
I figure if I started nowish then by the time the boys are off to school hopefully I'll have a booming little business to do during the day.
DH and I are both chefs and had dreamed of owning our own restautant but I don't think I want to commit to 6 nights a week and afternoons. Plus weekends are then all work and no social.
With my job you get 2 years to come back. So I left in Sep 05 to have DS#1 then had DS#2 in may 07 now I am Due to have #3 in Sep 08 so I will not be going back until at least Sep 2010. I will never go back full time as its 13hr days I would never see the boys but I will go back casual.
I hope not to go back until my 2 are in pre-school unless i find a weekend job as childcare costs too much
I am never going back!!!!!:smiliedance:
But I intend to get into some volunteer type work eventually
And am extreeeeeeeemmmmmly clucky ATM so may try for no2 any time (SSSHHHH)

AHmumR - I don't have a job to go back to either :smiliedance: (but I am studying at the mo) and I love not having the big question about going back to work hanging over my head.
It also gives us the luxury of being able to start TTC#2 without having to consider waiting to get maternity leave again or feeling any obligation to an employer.
I was offered a job in Feb but turned it down because we don't have any childcare lined up.
I don't know what will come up in the future, but I like playing it by ear and ideally I would like to stay home with my DS until he is old enough for pre-school.
