View Full Version : Been Referred to Dr Glenn Sterling
Hi. Long time lurker here. I haven't posted much.
My GP has just referred me to Dr Glenn Sterling. .
So I guess I am looking for anyone who has had Dr Sterling before? Good and bad stories both welcome.
Thanks (in advance)

Hi Layla!
I haven't been to Dr Sterling personally however our good friends had him as their fertility specialist then as their Ob when they did conceive. They highly recommend him!

Hmm, I wonder how much of this my health fund will cover!

Sorry that I am not able to help you with!
But good luck!
I won't be going back to him for reasons I'm not going into here.
But others have had good things to say about him.
Do a search on this forum by his name.

Hi
cant help you with Dr Stirling ..... but I can tell you what your health fund will cover ..... sweet f@#$ all!!!!
Private Health Insurance only covers in hospital treatments from Dr's, so none of your visits will be covered.
If you have a Lap/dye test/IVF or other fertility treatment, you will only receive benefits for the part of your treatment for which you were admitted as an inpatient.....
Medicare covers the scheduled fees, then 80% once you have reached the safety net (which doesnt take long as the bills quickly add up)
Good luck for your journey :babydust2: :babydust2: :babydust2: :babydust2: :babydust2:
Thanks to all who have replied so far :D
Thanks for that katiesmum, I had a feeling not much was covered by my health fund ...oh well. There is a Dr G Sterling on their list of 'partner' doctors (no-gap list) that could be him? And the Wesley (aparently the hospital Dr Sterling operates out of) is definitely a partner hospital with my health fund.
*sigh* Oh well I always knew it wouldn't be cheap.
Though I never really thought I would be at this stage, about to make an appointment with a fertility specialist.
D'oh :gloomy:

I'll let you know after my appointment with him :)
Ohh I cant rate him highly enough!!
He did run into some "trouble" and wasnt practising for about 6-9 months I think (do a google to find out why) But to me what he does in his personal life has nothing to do with the way he treated me whilst I was a patient of his.
He was wonderful, very professional, but keeps it casual and likes to have a joke etc.
I ended up falling pregnant as a result of seeing him.
His fees were quite reasonable and medicare covered half of the total bill.
For my first cycle with him it was an IUI cycle and his bill was $720, medicare gave back $350 Im pretty sure.
He also only makes you pay at the end of the cycle, not at the end of each visit.
Im happy to answer any other questions you have about him. Maybe best to PM me incase I dont see this thread again.
Good luck and I hope you too fall pregnant :)

I was referred to Doc Sterling as well. I have had 1 cycle on Clomid/ Puregon with him.
He is fun if he can stop singing (DH and I call him crazy Doc). His media popularity does not bother us.
He does not have a partner at his clinic. He is all by himself. Does not work with Wesley anymore either. Nurses Rachel and Kelly (new) are awesome as are the receptionists.
We had IUI and the total cost was $950 and we got $450 back from Medicare. If you are with Medibank, do tell the girls to put pregnyl on 1 receipt as medibank does not pay for meds under $30.
Well, I had the appointment with Dr Sterling yesterday :)
He was really nice, very reassuring and didn't stuff around at all.
So yeah, Dr Sterling is lovely :goodvibes: His waiting room is well stocked with coffee, sushi, chocolate brownies and tim tams  The receptionist is also very nice
