My sister was bottle fed & had only ever seen her little brother fed by bottle's.(And all the babies in the media aswell.)

When I had Julius it was the first time she had seen a baby breastfeed. The first time she saw him feed, her jaw dropped and she said "mummy, what is Keirra doing to the baby?".
My mum said "she is feeding her baby, Babies get milk from boob's".

My sister was like "Oh.." staring in amazement with her eyes SO wide.

Ever since If I fed Julius in the lounge room, she would come over all curious like pretending she wasnt trying to look at what was happening and tryed to 'talk to Julius' while sneeking looks at how he was feeding.

It was so funny...

Once I noticed her asking questions about breastfeeding and I said "look at this" and squirted milk out on to my hand. She was shocked.

 Recently my mum took my 5 year old sister (my 2yr baby bro)to retro-vision.She got stuck in a convo with one of the workers there, & she realized both of them had gone missing. Then she heard my 2 yr brother screaming.....She looked around the corner and saw my little sister pulling her shirt up to reveal her nipple, and was trying to force my brother to breastfeed!!! PMSL

What a classic.

My mum came home and told me infront of my sister, she was so embaressed and kept denying it.

:laughing::laughing::laughing: That is absolutely hilarious.
She's starting young, I wonder how long it will take to sink in that it's actually normal to breastfeed.

I think it's really good that you're showing her what it's about.

I know, they are so random arent they..The things they come up with sometimes is hilarious.

Oh and another funny thing, when My little brother saw me breastfeed for the first few times he pointed and laughed and made my mum look.

Well one day he was holding Julius on his lap while my mum supervised them.Julius started to get cranky, my brother gave him a dummy & patted him like he'd seen people do, but Julius started to get crankier. My brother lifted his top and tryed to push Julius towards his chest with a VERY confused look on his face.He didnt know what to do, and got so confused, but kept insisting Julius feed from him.

Needless to say, he was HEART BROKEN when I took Julius off him.I felt so bad to, like I was a "baby snatcher" or something.

How gorgeous..... Although ds is bottle fed my children certainly know that it's not the only way to feed a bubba.... I remember them asking me why i wasn't breastfeeding and i explained it to them and they were like...." Oh well mum, at least you tried".....awwwwww!!!
I was more taken back that they commented on it considering and agreeing totally with the OP that not a lot of children know what breastfeeding is...

Great post Neostudded...

(i'm sorry about the 'titanic' post by the way... hope your not too affected by it....:))

It's okay about the titantic post, altho, I have to say it is deppressing to think everyone that died there is "re-living" it.

How gorgeous!!

My 2yr old DS feeds his teddy bear, using his belly button . The other day he sat the bear up as if he was burping him, then said 'you want some more booby?' before popping him back on the belly button. I almost peed my pants it was so adorable :goodvibes:.

I think it's great for kids to see breastfeeding as normal .
