Due to DH's new job we can afford (just) for me to stay home with DD fulltime.:yelclap:
My maternity leave runs out at the end of this month, and I was dreading having to go back to work, even if it was only going to be for 2 days a week, now I don't have to!!
YAY!! Now I just have to tell my boss of 15 years......

YAY! So happy for you!!! :hugs:
That's fantastic news. I have six months to do this and then DP says he wants me to go back to work 2 days a week.
I honestly can't see it happening though LOL. I found it very hard to leave my puppy when she was a baby so something tells me this is going to be much much worse!!
I guess you don't know till it happens and some people just don't have the choice. I don't really know if we have the choice or not, as I said, we'll have to wait and see.
Thanks everyone!

Excellent :D
Its the best feeling isn't it?
I was going to back to work 2 days a week though we decided to re-finance and we can live off 1 wage quite easily now :D
I resigned after xmas. I never thought I would be able to stay at home with a baby and now I plan on staying home until kindy begins.
YOU WILL LOVE IT.

I too have recently (two weeks ago actually) joined the elite list of SAHM's It wasnt the easiest decision for me cause of nasty pressure appliying people but it was the best feeling when i walked out the front door of that building knowing that if i ever go back through it will be to say HI and sit in the lunch room and have a coffee with my girls. Much as i miss our daily chats i know i would miss my 10 month olds daily jibberish much more, i'm sure it makes about as much sense as we ever did some days!!! . Well Done girl enjoy it!

Good on you all .... :smiliedance:
We'll have to see how we go in 6 months or so :fingerscrossed: ... I think though with 2 kids needing daycare & after school care we simply won't be able to afford it.
Doesn't make sense does it??? (Good for me though!)
Congratulations. :smiliedance:
I love being a SAHM.. it's the most wonderful thing in the world to me... not bad for a chick who two years ago was never going to have children and concetrating on her career.
Thanks ladies.:)
I just wish the option of staying home was available to all mums if they wanted it.Watching your child grow and learn is such a wonderful experience...I hate to think what I would miss if I did have to go back to work.

Oh wow, Emerald I couldn’t be happier for you!!! Congrats. I just saw your age and the fact that you’ve been working for 15 years, blimey!!!! I've been in the workforce only after I’ve finished my degree (2003) minus 9 months maternity leave! (Yeah I know I’ve been spoilt rotten and no I have never been on the dole either lol, and I had no HECS debts thanks to my parents. :yelclap:)
But aye what a great news for you, enjoy the SAHM and be happy that’s the main things! :-)
Thankyou TM. :) Yes,15 years in the same job is far too long I think! Now it's time to enjoy my bub.:D
