Hi girls, just wondering if anyone is having a planned c-section? I had an emergency c-section with DS1 after a very traumatic 2 days of labour, and a planned one with DS2 (couldnt bear to stress about the labour for 9 months) Anyway this time I dont have an option I have to have another one. It doesnt bother me, just wondering if anyone has had more than 2, and what their experience was like.....
I must admit second time around was much better, without all the drugs and being totally worn out, I had DS2 in the morning and just got to hold him all day before we told anyone (very selfish i know) LOL

A friend of mine had 4 electives and no probs!
my friends OB said to her that three is not an issue .. its when you have more than that - you need more monitoring (possibly) .. I think these days .. more women have three .. :hugs:
good luck!!

Hi Sarah,
This will be my third c-section too The first was a very traumatic emergency c-section and the second planned. Obviously the second one was a lot more relaxed and while I wouldn't say it was enjoyable it wasn't awful either and of course had a terrific outcome. My DH and I would like 4 children and I am also worried about whether my body will allow me to have 5 c-sections. I have heard of women having more than that, but I think sometimes more that three is discouraged. I plan on asking my OB to assess my scarring this time so at least I know whether another pregnancy is feasible.

Glad to hear someone is in a similar situation. We would love to have a fourth child too. Fingers crossed that all will be ok to have a 4th c section.
I have had 4 c/sections and have been given the O.K for a 5th if I would like another.

Sorry to butt in :o - I had my 3rd c-sec 6mths ago. The only problem I found was coming home and having to deal with the other 2 plus a newborn. Simple things like having a nap, sitting down and resting was really hard to do, which I think helps aid your recovery alot better.
My suggestion would be to have someone on hand for a couple of weeks to either look after the other 2 while bubs is asleep so you can have a nap as well, help clean the house because that just goes out the window for a little while  and pre cooked meals is always handy when you get stuck in the evenings with baths etc
I think if you can get that extra rest it will really help make things easier
Ok, enough :ecomcity: from me
