HI i have been reading some threads in the other sections about saving money. I was wondering how you all save money to do big adventures (ie dreamworld etc) and just to save money. I am a sahm to 3 kids (8,nearly3,1) dh works a good job. I am starting a new thing that one of my friends who is expecting her 4th is trying. You get a calender and write what you are going to have for tea each night for 3weeks. That way you know exactly what you need to buy and the kids and dh stop hassling you with whats for tea as they can go and look. I was just wonderingif anyone had tried this and how it went for you, i would also love to hear other things you do??? any response would be great

I don't think I could stick to that, we have an ING account and the money comes out automatic each week thats savings general then we have two other accounts one for phone, electricty and rates and the other is christmas/ birthdays, same thing the money automatically goes into it and I earn interest on it too!

Menu planning is great!! When I remember to stick to it ~lol~ I find that my grocery shopping bill decreases significantly!!
