I have banned them, taken toys off them, but none of them still listen, none of them help me to keep THEIR stuff clean. I feel like I am constantly talking to a brick wall :banghead: (actually I think the brick wall is more helpful)

I cant keep up with it all.

what things have you done to get your kids to help to keep their rooms clean, and the toys off the floor?

If I yell at them, they cry and scream and refuse to do it, if I ask nicely, they might pick up 1 or 2 things.

At the moment, they are all banned from electric/battery powered stuff, the TV is next to go!

They hardly have any toys left! (Ive taken most of them away) but then they leave their clothes everywhere.

I've been trying to raise kind considerate TIDY boys, but it just aint happening.

I hear alot of people saying how their hubbies dont pick up after themselves, and they are mummies boys, and used to mummy having to do stuff for them, LOL I can see why now! If a female dont do it, it dont get done!

My little girl can only do so much to help! Poor thing, shes either going to hate men, or be used to their mess! LOL :o

If they leave toys in the yard they get put in the bin. If they leave their bikes outside in the weather, we will not oil the chain or replace the tyres when they perish. After years they still haven't got it. If you want the house clean and to have stuff picked up and put away, you've got to do it yourself or NAG continually!

I use bribery. Clean up your room and I will give you 50c or we can watch a dvd. I know probably every child psychologist would shoot me down but it does work:thumbsup:

LOL, my kids say, no, you give me the 50c FIRST then I will do it

I tried giving them half first, then half later, they might pick up a couple of things, but not enough to really look like they have done anything.

I learnt the hard way. I gave my ds a muesli bar to clean up his room once which he PROMISED to do. Then after he had the muesli bar he lost interest, grrrr. So I always pay when the job is done now. Bit like tradesmen if you owe them money, it keeps them interested:D
