View Full Version : AF after birth and breastfeeding
Hey ladies.
AF returned when DD was exactly 7 months old and I haven't seen another AF for 36 days :detective:
DD is still breastfeeding, usually 5 feeds a day then 2 during the night. We are ttc but all tests have come back :bfn:, including blood tests.
When you got AF back for the first time after bubs was born, how long did it take for the second AF to arrive? Does breastfeeding mean it'll take longer for the next one to come?
TIA!

hey hun. when you have a bub whether you are BFing or not, your AF can take up to 2 years to become regular again. dont stress yourself over it. your cycles probably still trying to find its way. :)

I got my first AF when DS was 10 months (he was still BFing then...) That cycle was then 40 days long. Next one was 25 days long... then 28, then 29, then the following cycle I got pregnant. Had been trying for 3 months already before AF turned up...
So goes to show that after having a bub and especially after BF it can take a while for cycle to settle down.
Good luck TTC - hope it happens soon for you!!

i just got my 2nd lot since getting them back and they came back on the dot
I've had my second AF since having DS, and It's been spot on 28 days...which is odd for me, as I don't have regualer cycles. I think it may take a while before it sorts itself out, and by then I hope to be pregnant again;)
