So I'm making a marinade for the chicken for tonight's dinner, I've chopped up a bunch of coriander, squeezed some limes, pressed some garlic....

I turn to the fridge to get the chicken breast out and when I turn back, Miss Eloise has chopped coriander on her chin and she's sucking on a lime!

This is the same kid who will not eat *insert any vegetable*.

Here's the marinade recipe if anyone is interested too. It's one of Ainsley Harriott's... yum!

6 garlic cloves
4 tbsp fresh coriander leaves, plus extra, to garnish
2 tsp black peppercorns, coars ley ground
2 tsp caster sugar
2 limes, juice only
2 tsp Thai fish sauce
1 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tbsp sunflower oil

4 skinless chicken breasts - place in marinade (turning every so often) for about 1-2 hours - no longer! Lime tenderises the chicken and if you leave it too long, it can make the chicken fall apart.

You want some tequila with that?
Please. :)

Also, cute :p and thanks for the recipe :D

My mum used to tell me that my trick when I was little was to suck on raw lemons

Ha ha good on yer Elouise!

You know Rach, I have a similar recipe, but instead of using the caster sugar and light soy sauce, I replace them with Indonesian's Sweet Soy Sauce, tastes so much better! *drool*

Try that! I'm sure you can get this soy sauce at W'worth, if not I'm happy to send a small bottle for you!

Thanks TM - I'll check in the Asian section of the supermarket here, it seems to be quite comprehensive!

The chicken was really yummy - first time trying this particular recipe, I was pretty impressed, the chicken was SO tender and moist!

Cute :) When Chloe was not quite a year old we were out to dinner one night and she wanted the slice of lemon off my plate. I think her grandad was shocked that I gave it to her. The face she made was priceless, but she kept sucking away at it! lol.

I'll be trying that chicken I think.

Why is it that most kids like lemon or lime? Both of mine love sucking on them - ugh so bitter on its own - i'll take the tequila and salt with mine thanx :p
