No, my plan is to have a vag birth with this one, coz I was lucky to have that with both my girls.
:fingerscrossed: I will be just as lucky this time around.
The worst parts of both my prior labours were:
Baylee - 48 hour labour!!!!!
Kaiden - manual extraction needed for placenta - not nice!
Hoping to improve on these this time, but as long as bub comes out ok, I will be happy.
I had a caesar for my first due to being breach. My second bub was VBAC - caused me lots of worry leading up to the big day, but in the end I was very happy with a quick labour and no complications due to being VBAC. This one I hope will be a normal vaginal delivery too.
Good luck to the girls having a VBAC.

I had a VBAC 2nd time round but had the same complications as the first time, ended up having suction, and then I tore. OUCH!! I wish now I'd had another Caesar. But that's just me!:D

Hi
I had a emergency c/s with my DD, I am thinking I want to have a vbac this time. My gp thinks its a good idea, but I will have to wait until I go to my OB to discuss what went wrong last time, and to see if its possible. I hope I can have one as I would love to be able to come home early (my hospital have a early discharge program), instead of having to stay in hospital for days and days!

Jel one of my worries is how much does your scar actually hurt in labour?

I don't know about VBAC but I do know a friend of mine had an operation on her ovaries/tubes while pregnant with her son .. she was around 4 months! She still gave birth vaginally and had no trouble with her scar during her actually labour .. said it was more painful when her son was kicking while pregnant.

Hi
I really dont know and dont know where to start to make my decision.
DD was an emergency c-section for "failure to progress" but it was all a bit of a stuff up really by a student midwife. Not saying the c-section wasnt necessary but it may have been avoided if things were handled differently.
So any suggestions on where I start. I have the form to request my notes from the hospital. Unfortunately I am a public patient so dont have an ob to talk it all through with.
I was a bit suprised yesterday as DH has just assumed that I will have another c-section. He is used to his rellies I guess who were very much in the day of once you have one then thats the way all your babies come out.
So if anyone can help me with some unbiased info that would be great.
I also read somewhere that if you had an infection post c-section there is a higher risk of problems with a vbac??

I had a c-section before due to bubs being breach. I really don't know what I'll be having this time. I guess I'll just have to discuss it with my ob & see if he thinks it's a good idea to try a VBAC.

BUMP!!
So where are we at with VBAC?
I'm feeling pretty good about the whole thing but I also think I would cope if I had to have another c-sect. So far the BC have been great and I don't feel any pressure at all.

Hi
Well I'm down for a VBAC but must admit that as the date is getting closer I am wavering a bit:o Mainly as they suspect its going to be a baby elephant that I am going to be giving birth to:eek:
I am going to have accupuncture to try and get bubs into an optimal birthing position. The midwife I saw this week said there was no way anyone could have birthed dd the position she was in so that was interesting to hear.

This will be my 2nd VBAC hopefully, the first birth being an emergency CS when both myself and DS were in distress. I went into my 2nd birth hoping I didn't have to go through a CS again - thinking positive did alot for me. My aim was for a VBAC and in my mind I didn't even consider the option of CS unless it was necessary. I was induced after going 3 days overdue - contractions started at 11am, started pushing at 3pm and DS2 was born at 4pm. I had no complications during labour and was up and about 1/2 hour later feeling fine. Hopefully this one will be the same. Goodluck to you.

That's great about your last birth Sonia, it must've felt so good being up and about 30 mins later :yelclap: I hope you have the same this time!
Manxie - I've got a bit of a giant inside me as well. I was talking to my MW the other day about it and she said that bigger babies often present in better positions than smaller ones as they have nowhere else to go but down! True or not, i'm gonna hang onto that as everything positive helps. When do you think you will decide or are you just going to go into labour with an open mind?

Mummy22boys- Thats exactly the kind of story I need to hear to remind why I wanted to go for a VBAC in the first place:yes:
GeorgiaAnne-Glad I'm not the only one with a whopper:laughing: I will keep those positive thoughts in my mind.
At this stage still going ahead with the VBAC. My next hospy appointment is in four weeks so they will review everything there and I will be guided by them to some extent. They are very pro VBAC so I dont think they would seize upon the opportunity to push me into a c-section unless they felt it was warranted.
I think I just need to do some more reading and get back into a positive frame of mind. I have contact with an independed midwife and she is usally very motivating so might drop her a line.

Thanks GeorgiaAnne, me too. I couldn't believe how fast my labour was really as it was technically like having my first baby - nothing had been stretched before so I was expecting a long 1st labour.

Absolutely Manxie - my recovery was so much better, just what you need when you have a new baby and other kids at home to look after. I went home from hospital the same day, even stood up for 8 hours after the birth, caught a plane 6 hours after that, climbed stairs etc. (My Son needed to be transferred from Tas to RCH in Melb - but he is a healthy little 2 1/2 year old now). With another CS I wouldn't have been able to do any of this. So with a positive attitude it is surprising what strength you can find. I wish you all the very best with your decision.
