Hi
My DD has been pulling her left ear lots and I am trying to figure out why
She has no temp (36.5 every time we check)
No red ears / face
No sweating
No drooling
Normal appetite and nappies
Sometimes she is grisly

Any ideas?

I don't think it is teeth as she already has 2 and they came out without us even knowing, she drooled lots but no other symptoms.

Please help me figure this out before I give her more panadol.

Thanks Roxi

Andrew has always enjoyed pulling on his ear - he just does it cos its THERE :)

It can be an indication of a sore ear/ear infection, so might be best to get it checked out if you are worried. You're the best judge of that :)

Sometimes it can be related to teething, ear wax-yes bubs ears are different than adult, sometimes like Nicole said its because there.

My older brother is an OB/Paed he told me that some bubs turn that "ear pulling" activity into some sort of habit. If it doesn't bother your child I wouldnt worry about it, but you know if you worried, the best thing to do is, take your lil one to the nurse/doc just to make sure he's aOK :)

I used to do it when tired, my mother always knew it was time for bed when my ears went red. And they still go red today.

I used to babysit a 9 month old bub and she always pulled her ears when she was tired and ready for a nap.

My DD1 used to do it because she was tired and DD2 does it because she can!!

All bubs are different, unless your little one has obvious signs of discomfort then I wouldn't worry too much but just keep an eye on her in case it does get painful.

My ds like many of the others pulls and rubs his ears whan he is tired. However, if this isn't something your bub normally does or you are the slightest bit concerned get it cheked out. As a baby/child I suffered from a few ear infections and that was the only sign. I had no other symptoms - didn't even appear to be in any pain/discomfort. The first time, the dr. said i should have been screaming in agony it was that bad! My poor mother was mortified! You will know if it seems out f the ordinary for your bub...............good luck, I'm sure she will be fine!
