Hi Girls

I have a question... I know everybody is different but I was wandering how long it took for you girls to get your period back if you have got it...

Tyson is now 15 weeks old. I breastfed him until he was 6 weeks and then I combined fed him for a few weeks and then I slowly weened him off the boob. For the last 2 weeks of Dec he was being fully forumla fed except for one breastfeed a day (more just for bonding than anything as he still needed top ups after that one feed) and then all of January he has been fully formula fed.

I havent got my period back yet and was wandering if this is normal... I have friends from my mothers group that are fully formula feeding and other friends that are fully breastfeeding and all of the girls have got their periods back except one girl that is fully breastfeeding. So I am not sure what to think....

What do you girls reckon...?

Bubs is now 2 months and I just got mine back today! Forgot how annoying those cramps are! Sitting here with hot wheat pack to help with that achy feeling.

I am breastfeeding and formula feeding, so am happy for 2 extra months of no period!! :D

I was going to ask same question as you actually, so will be hanging around for the answers from others!

I got mine back at 7 weeks - but I was formula feeding from 2 so that would account for it. If you get worried go see your GP Hun - if I were you I would wait another few weeks now you are fully FF, and see if your cycle kicks back in. If not then off to the GP! :)

Mine just started again yesterday. Bub is 2 months today and we switched to formula at 4 weeks.

I did a similar thing to what you did with slowly substituting the formula when DD was 3 months old and by the time she was 4 months she was FF. It took another couple of weeks after i had finished feeding for me to get my period and the first one was really quick and over in like 2 days but whoa the one after that was terrible like nothing i had ever had with them before. I do apologise for TMI

I'm bf full time and luckily no sign of AF yet.
It varies from woman to woman, depending on bf or ff, so I think you should wait a couple of weeks and if there is still no sign of AF (lucky you I say!), see your GP if you are worried.
If you aren't planning on a :bfp:, don't forget that you can still get pregnant without AF returning, so use contraception.

Thanks for that girls. Thats been a big help. I am gonna wait another week and if nothing happens I will go get checked out. I am not actually planning a :bfp: but if it happens I will be happy. And I know I can get pregnant without period coming back as that is what happened with Tyson, I hadnt got my period back after miscarriage and I fell pregnant anyways.
I guess I will do a test if I dont get period back soon and then if it is :bfn: then I will go see doc.
Thanks again!
