View Full Version : help with car boot bolt thingies (technical terms)

hi ..

ok .. work with me here .. I have NO idea about the thingies that go in the boot - only that you NEED one for the baby's safety...

so .. I am getting the capsule fitted tomorrow .. and I have a bolt - for the boot .. ready for the capsule.. BUT .. there are two parts I dont seem to need/? is that right/?

I hvae a hatchback ..

the bolt thingies seem to comprise of 7 pieces .. the BOLT .. then a tiny silver 'spacer'?? ... then the BIG bolt piece.. then a 1/2 cm spacer .. then a 1 cm spacer .. then a HUGE silver circle .. then the NUT ...

sigh

I cant see how to use the big silver circle and the nut/?? why would you need to screw it from the other side/?? am I doing it right/?? I hope it makes sense ..??

are you talking about the anchor? And the anchor point in your boot?
If so, I will ask DP when he gets home.

One of those nuts goes under the actual hole where the bolt is if that makes sense, i know when i got my extra bolt put in from inside the boot there is a huge nut then a spacer, which has the end of the bolt from the inside of the car through it, then in the actual top part inside the car there was another spacer, then the clip that the car seat latches on to then another spacer and a bolt.

There seemed to be far too many but i know when the guy installed mine he used all bar on of them spacey thingies. It only cost me $10 to get it installed maybe suss it out

Are you getting a capsule fitted by the ambos??? They will fit EVERYTHING for you - just leave it to them. They also provide the bolt anchors everything if you don't have it already, as they usually come with the seats :)

ok .. will leave it in .. where I have tried to install it .. :laughing: and just take my tools with me tomorrow - and all the bits that were with it ..
