12 Week Ultrasound this morning!

Hi Ladies,

I'm very excited to tell you all that we had our 12 week ultrasound this morning.

Baby's due date of 17th July is correct, baby is looking great and is doing well.

The tests they've done for Downs Syndrome came back as very low risk, 1: 6324 which is fantastic! The sonographer said that everything was looking very healthy and happy.

It was amazing to see our little one wriggling about the place, we saw and heard the heart beating strongly, the separation of the two sides of the brain, the arms and legs, little face, even the ribs and spine.

It was truly amazing and now I'm so relieved and excited! :yelclap:

We had ours last week and we are also due on 17th July

Hope you are feeling well, I still have ms although it is easing and I'm only needing the Zofran tablets about every 2nd day now which is good.

I had my scan yesterday morning also, and everything here is fine! it is amazing what you can see even though they are so tiny! I am still due on the 17th also. Bubs measurements were big for that date, but still in the normal range (but with a previous 10lb and an 8lb 12 bubs i am not surprised!)

Hi Jane, did you get a glimpse of the sex, our scan showed more chance of another boy... those male sperm just seem to be too strong for the girls in our family....

Nope. SHe tried to look, but just couldn't get the right angle on it. so 6 or so more weeks to wait for us! although it may be better for me because then i can be that bit more certain of it being right. Not much hope here for a girl either. DH's family only has about 3 girls born in 3 generations- and most of them have had 3-4 boys!

It is truly a wonderful moment the first time you see your little baby and know that it is really all real. Congrats!

My obs gave me a date of 17 july but 12 weeks scans predicted 19 july.

Which can be more accurate?

I was always told the earlier scans are, but maybe split the difference and go the 18th! LOL
Scans are usually a little more accurate than the period dates though...but you are only talking 2 days here.

My 2nd DS had the scan date of 13th July at the 12 week and 10th July at the 6 week scan. He arrived the 11th! LOL

A due date is just that... a due date, not an actual date of birth.

My scan results from my 12 week one were a little bigger than average for gestation i was told (but still within normal) and she didn't bother changing my EDD.

Here's our little one, new date of 22nd july, seems a bit more likely than the last one.

The scan was amazing, myself and hubbies jaws were on the floor.

I was told at my ultrasound that the date he gave me is give or take 3 days either side. I wouldnt worry too much, most of the little munchkins come late anyway :D

My DD arrived 25 days earlier than expected and there is a tendency of bubs coming earlier in DH family. So may be this one will come earlier too.

I shouldn't worry too much about it ....i guess
