What week for elective c/s?

We'll be having an elective c/s this time around, just wondering at what week they are usually done?

I think it's normally about a week before their due date. I had mine at 39 weeks & 1 day.

i had mine the day before i was due :D but that was only cause he was booked up!

I think they will do it anywhere from 38 weeks

39 weeks and 1 day for me too. It used to be 38 weeks but they have apparently changed it to 39 weeks now according to my ob.

Yeah it is 39 weeks now, i asked about going at 38 weeks this time round cause pregnant with #3 because DS2 was over 10 lb and had breathing difficulties, and my Ob said he doesnt like taking earlier than 39 weeks because the earlier they are the more problems they can have or something.

I have just been booked in for 39 weeks :)

When I originally asked my hospital they said beteewn 38-39 weeks, however my gp said that with new research they are opting for 39 weeks now

i had one the other week i was 38 1/2 weeks coz of x.mas but got told they don't like to go past 38 in case of comlications.
