Melbourne Zoo or Healesville Sanctuary?

Has anyone been to both of these zoo's?

Which one, in your opinion, is better for a 4 year old. My DD absolutely adores animals and I was thinking of taking her to one or the other for her birthday in 2 weeks time. We took her to Melb Zoo years ago, but now that she's older she'd appreciate it so much more. We've never been to Healesville before, so I'm not sure what it's like.

Any thoughts/opinions would be appreciated! :thumbsup:

Healsville is ok but i found about 12 months ago when i went my kids liked the actual melbourne zoo alot more, not sure why but they werent really into the healesville one, i think as the animals arent as close maybe

The Zoo, definitely. :yes:

Healesville is good - but it's a bl00dy long way to go! The only thing that my kids really enjoyed at Healesville was the safari bus ride through the enclosures.

They enjoyed the zoo a lot more - and they were about 3yrs and 18mths old when we took them.

The zoo, it's bigger and better. Not a huge fan of Healesville.

I've never been to Healesville but we took our kids (aged 5, 3 and nearly 2) to the Melbourne zoo today and they all had a blast! It was excellent and we really enjoyed ourselves:)
