Good luck Meltux. I hope that this is the cycle for you.

I have put me down as testing on 2nd .... (which was 4 days ago) as that was the date I was originally testing.....

I am cd 32 (of 27 day cycle) - still no af - have been testing every day .... but :bfn:.

If still no af and still BFN tomorrow morning I will get a blood test.

Till then I am going on the principal of PUPO (pregnant until proven otherwise)

Good luck to everyone :babydust2: :babydust2: :babydust2: :babydust2:

Hi to everyone on this thread

Can I please join you and be added to Jan 31st? This is our 3rd cycle since our unsuccessful ICSI in Sept/Oct. We had to have 2 full cycles off before trying FET but because of the clinics Christmas closure until Jan 15th we actually have had to wait for 3 cycles. Anyway I have been trying a few things to TTC naturally but so far no luck.
:fingerscrossed: we will get :bfp: this month and won't need to go in for FET in Feb!

meltux
08-01-2008, 08:11
Katiesmum - how are you?????Did you end up going for a BT???? It sounds promising and I am hoping and praying for you............

Mummynow - of course you can join us here...I didn't realise you have waited for 3 cycles! My Fs would've had me straight into an FET but it was christmas and now we are in Jan so it has been one cycle for me! Good luck and will you be doing a natural or supported FET? Mine will be natural with scans and BT's to pinpoint when to put in the embies!

Kali - thanks for popping in! Hope the MS isn't attacking you but it is worth it really heh?
Did you have a good christmas?

Starmummy - CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU!!!!!:yelclap:

Pippi - long time no hear....good luck this month!

Kitty - thought you were having a break from here? I have tried to but it is such a comfort and really hard to stay away from!!!!

Hi to everyone else!!!!Come on the JAN BFP's!!!!:flowerz:

Well I am just hanging out at home as I am still on holidays (another 2weeks yay!!) and the rain seems to have set in for our wet season. I have started some gardening projects which are being dampened by the rain and the housework is all done...ho hum....I will have to call a friend and go to lunch and then a bit of shopping!!!!:flowerz:

mummynow

Thanks Meltux. I don't actually know yet about what sort of cycle I will be having as it is my first FET so we haven't discussed it much witht the clinic. I am suppossed to ring them after the 15th of Jan when they open again to discuss that kind of stuff I think.

Hi Meltux

am feeling a bit better this afternoon.

As you say - now that I know for certain I can move on. I am not any worse off than before. I never beleived (until this week) that I would get a natural BFP anyway. I always thought that I would need IVF.

Looking forward to starting the next phase of my journey.

 Ladies, I just wanted to pop in and wish everyone all the very best for January. I am sending you all loads of positive vibes and loads of sticky baby dust and lets see the first lots of BFPs for 2008. I do believe 2008 will be a very good year to increase the population

As for me, I am out for January as we are starting our down reg IVF cycle and I start jabbing (lucrin) on 20 Jan, so that will mean mid Feb for EPU, but in the meantime I will be checking in one everyone and sending you loads of baby dust and can't wait to see those BFP results :)

Take care

Hi lovely ladies!!!

Hope you all had a wonderful break, and are now looking forward to a very successful TTC year.

Katiesmum, sorry you didn't get off to the start you were hoping for. :hugs: Nevermind, we WILL get there one way or another!

Macca all the best for your new IVF journey darl, may it be a successful one for you.

As for me... well AF decided to finally rear her ugly head on 7th Jan! Can you believe that? A 51 day cycle! Mind you, its almost non-existant which is also totally bizarre for me, as I normally flood for a good four days followed by light bleeding for another three to five. (sorry for the TMI) I'm blaming it on the lap though, and am positive that this cycle will be back to normal and I'll have every good chance to conceive as anyone else.

I am supposed to go and see my FS at the end of this month, but I think I might postpone it. I don't really see the point in seeing him yet since I've only had one cycle since the op? What do you guys think?

Anyhow, all this aside... I know I shouldn't test on CD24 but can you please put me down for Jan 31 anyway, since I can't bear the thought of not testing this month  Hopeless I know.

Take care girls, and talk soon.

xx

Hi Everyone ....

Larazie - what I will do is make this one a Jan and Feb calender ..... then can add everyone (myself included )

Angelhope - :hugs: - I would still go and see FS - 51 days is incredibly long for a cycle .......

Macca - best of luck for this cycle.....

Meltux - how is your holiday going? Hope you are getting in lots of shopping time.

meltux
09-01-2008, 17:38
Hi:flowerz:

Angelhope....wow!! A 51 day cycle!!! I would be so frustrated!!!!!! When did you have your Lap??

katiesmum - have bought a new book and am chilling out reading! I have been shopping a couple of times but am over it at the moment.

i am feeling a little down at the moment :(as i do my head in waiting for AF to arrive (now is 5 days late) and then finally onto FET!!!! I am really getting sick of this! It is so unfair and I am sick of everyone else not understanding (not on here that is!)......sorry i will be ok....I am just having a bad day!:gloomy:

KatiesMum
09-01-2008, 18:08
Yep - there are so many ups and downs ..... it is definately hard to understand yourself sometimes, never mind expecting anyone else to understand it.....

Wow - 5 days late. Have you tested? maybe you are the one who will get a natural BFP .....

If that is not a chance, I hope af arrives soon for you. She finally arrived for me today (and is an absolute doozy .... has been spending that extra time building up I think!!!!!)

MMMM a book and nice relaxing bath .....mmmmm :goodvibes:

meltux

Hiya,
Great idea to make a January-February joint calendar. It is possible to edit the thread title too - so it reflects the Jan/Feb thing. Maybe that's a good idea?

mummynow
09-01-2008, 23:03
I'm so glad you added February to this thread calendar too..... Can you please move me from the 31st of Jan to the 1st of Feb??

Cheers ;)

10-01-2008, 08:26
Angelhope - Wow a 51 day cycle, but it is great that AF is finally here and now you can try again :) I think you could be right, things like Laps can put this out of wack, but it is only a one off thing. It is up to you, but I would see your fs just for an update on how things are going and if you haven't already maybe get the results from your lap. My fs suggests a chat every 3 months, so we go back to him in March, and I am hoping for his OB advice this time :fingerscrossed: I wish you all the very best and sending you lots of positive vibes and lots of baby dust.

Katiesmum - That is so great that you are making this thread into a Jan/Feb calender. Heres hoping I can be testing at the end of Feb. Bring on those BFPs :babydust2:

meltux - I am sorry you are feeling a little down at the moment :hugs:You be sad if you feel like it, have a good cry, it helps, even though it sounds crazy it does help. It is true what you say, it is not fair, but this journey we are on will make us stronger and when we do finally get out little miracle it will be wonderful and for what we have been through we will be stronger mummies and daddies. I know it is hard and I have my down days often too, but try and stay strong and just remember it is the hormones making you feel the way you do. Take care and all the very best :)

To everyone that is testing in either Jan or Feb, I wish you all the very best and I am sending you all lots of positive vibes and lots of baby dust. I believe 2008 is a great year to increase the population  Bring on those BFP's

As for me, just sitting back and relaxing on the last few days of my holidays, I go back to work on Monday, even though I love my job I would also love to work from home or not work at all (hee hee) Also counting down the days till my first BT, which is next Friday, so depending on the results have to say, I could be starting this IVF cycle about 20 Jan, very exciting but also very scary at the same time (hee hee)

AngelHope
10-01-2008, 20:05
Heya girls

Macca: I sooo envy you having the extra week off. I made the mistake of going back to work yesterday and man am I regretting it!! It's like an oven in my office (our only air con is outside my door) and with there being a couple of consecutive days of heat, it's totally unbearable! I think I could get used to retirement pretttty easy.

Katiesmum: Could you please add me to 4th Feb darl? Thank you!

Meltux: Any sign of the wicked witch yet? Isn't it typical that when you want her to show, she goes on holiday!!! So sooo frustrating!! :banghead:

Well as for me, I've decided to keep my appt with the FS. AF really hasn't eventuated, in fact I would call it just spotting rather than flow so I don't even know what to do. It's totally different to the spotting I got pre-laporoscopy though. Very light in colour and only there when I wipe (sorry for the TMI guys) It's stopped now anyway which again, is weird. Sooo I guess I better go and find out what on earths going on. Normally if I go later than 24-26 days I absolutely flood even worse than usual, so this is just bizarre after so long a cycle.

Well I've gotta go pack for another weekend away, so I'll say adieu. Hope everyone's well.

Speak soon. :hugs:

Thanks for doing the thread katiesmum!!
Kali its lovely you popped in to say hi!!

Can you please put me down for the 15th jan!

I am on cd 25 and i have a 30 day cycle, I had a tiny tiny tiny smear of pinkish discharge this morning and then nothing all day and tonight when i went to the loo i had the tiniest little blood clot i have ever seen in my life!!! I have a little bit of af pain but not like normal af pains!!

Could this be implantation????

Has anyone had implantation before and was it similar to this???

Trying not to get excited but very hopefull!!!:fingerscrossed:

Hi Ladies

Not much to report here, waiting to O this week. Trying to focus on loosing weight and improving my diet. I was doing really well but got slack over xmas :o.

I'm not actually expecting a BFP this half of the year, not because i'm being negative, but just really think my body is telling me it needs some attention!

I'm testing 31st Jan and 29th Feb, if i could be added to the calendar.

Good luck everybody :smiliedance::babydust2:

Willynilly - I don't think you have O'd yet....maybe on the first rise but then temps go back down and this can mean no O yet as temps should stay high at least 3 days in a row and so forth.....in saying that...keep BDing all the while!!!:goodvibes:

Ziggy - good luck this month!!!!!!!!!!!:smiliedance: for your BFP in advance!!!

Kitty - I too was a lazy bum over the silly season but am now back into it...not too hard tho as we are doing FET at the end of the month. i am just staying healthy really with some exercise and healthy choices in diet (although ate some naughty foods on the weekend..he he) All is good and good luck!!!

Hmmmm ok...

update on my crazy cycle....

Kept an appt I made with my GP (tho shes also a trained gyno) and asked her what on earth is going on, and is a 50 day cycle post laperoscopy normal along with having a near non-existant AF after a seemingly normal one straight after the op, and she said no. She then asked me if I'd tested for pregnancy to which I told her
something I haven't told you guys coz I didn't believe the result (given that I'm CD 10 without ovulating if you count my last bleed as AF which I did, so physically not possible)
was that I got faint positives on both an internet cheapie and a Pregnosis test yesterday.

GP agreed that it was a faint positive, not an evap line, so I think that just added to her theory that its miscarriage. So she's sent me to have a blood test to see if I've miscarried?

You know what though? I don't really see the point in knowing. And I'm not sure I wanna phone and find out :gloomy:

Sorry for the rant.

Hope everyone else is well.

I really feel for you. I guess if anything a blood test will give you some answers as to what is going on with the cycle.

Hi Ladies

Well im in the 2ww as i was due to ovulate yesterday, but i had pains the couple days b4 so im not actually sure what day i ovulated as i dont do anything to check like temp or check CM that much even though it was shinny on the toilet paper the last 2 days (sorry if its bit too much info lol).
I have my gyno appoinment on the 30th of jan so we will see what happens then.

Hey gals!!!!:flowerz:

Angelhope - it does feel fantastic to move on and now you can focus on getting things right for your BFP!!!! YAY!!!

Larazie - hope you've been bding as much as possible!!:D Good luck with your TWW and try to stay sane (yer right...coming from the insane here!! he he)

Ziggy - Natural FET is a Frozen Embryo Transfer but without any medication/ hormones etc.....your body does its natural thing and they time it right for a transfer after you ovulate...we have three embies on ice:chillpill: after our IVF. I ovulate, our eggies fertilised well but just no BFP ....yet!!! So FS suggested a natural FET as they have had some great results and he thinks I am in with a chance!!!:fingerscrossed:
So I am taking herbs and eating foods to help with hormones, levels, blood lining etc (you can't take these with IVF hormones) and I feel really good...sleeping well, energy etc. So now I start with scans to see any follies developing, the thickness of lining etc and then maybe a bt to check levels....oh and the OPK's to detect LH surge...sorry I have babbled on a bit:ecomcity: I feel good about this tho:bee:

Hi girls . I am CD20 today and I may have O'd on CD16. My temps have been all over the place this month. Anyone have any suggestions:

http://www.mycycle.com/home/XHWPA (http://www.mycycle.com/home/XHWPA)

I have not taken clomid this time so I have been completely on my own in that regard. I know there was a big temp dip on CD9 but that was likely to be due to the fact that I went to bed with only a sheet on and the ceiling fan on full blast as that day had been really hot. Then the outside temp dropped right off for a milder day the next day and when I woke at 6.30 to take my temp I was really cold and shivering

I am trusting the OPK's this month more than the temps as we have had such a mix of weather - Days between 20-44 degrees and nights between 15-30 degrees. How's my body temp supposed to cope with that

If AF arrives (due around Jan 31st) then we are moving onto our first FET cycle. My FS has recommended an Estrodiol Valerate cycle (hormone supported). Sounds a bit scary really :(

Meltux - Good luck with you Natural FET :fingerscrossed:

Angelhope - Congratulations on your positive news from those test results :D

Hi ladies. Hope all is well with everyone?

Angelhope: Great! I"m so pleased that the tests showed that it wasn't a missed m/c. Has AF showed? I think the laps do just muck our systems around unfortunately - but it will settle.

Meltux: have you had your first scan yet? I've lost track. Or is it tomorrow? Yay...! Are you having one or two put back?

Mummynow: Sorry I don't know anything about fertilityfriend. I feel like its been so long since I was trying naturally (having spent a year with IVF) i forgot how it all works!! I guess as long as you BD every second day then your bases are covered anyway.

Larazie: yes... good luck with the TWW!!! Have fingers and toes crossed for you.

Ziggy: Did you say you wouldn't be moving to IVF till end of this year? I really hope you get your BFP before then. The vitamins are good. Make sure your DH eats lots of green veges - anti-oxidents in them are good for his spermies. And no alchohol or smoking for him either ;). Actually there is a new vitamin coming out in Febraury called 'Menevit' which has shown in trials to be very effective in helping male fertility. Its made by the same bunch who do 'Elevit' for women.

 Katiesmum & kitty. How are you guys going?

Me: Had another scan on Friday morning and all seems to be going well. Bubba is growing (although 3days behind in size - but DH reckons the doctor didn't measure properly on the scan). It measures 3cm... so tiny! So, I just have to hang in there for my 12 week scan on 4th February. Then I might stop worrying! :p
Had my first official spew :barf: last night - haven't so far had any morning sickness. But I think it was just a
bad curry :D

Oh dear Kali... looks like M/S may have reared it's ugly head... gee I'm jealous :D

I don't do fertility friend. I don't like it and it doesn't seem to like me. It's only as reliable as the information you feed into it and as my body is equally as unreliable, poor FF cannot be very accurate with what happening with me.

I use mycycle.com ... It is purely to record your data and then it's up to you to interpret it or show your FS. As I have many, many cycles experience to draw from I prefer this method.

hey Katiesmum - good luck with your FS appointment today...was it to ralk about IVF????? Or are you actually starting??? How exciting for you yet daunting at the same time I am sure! Thinking of you mate.

I haven't heard from helenw for a while...she was taking time out to get fitter and healthier etc then do another cycle later on....not sure when.

Yay Kali for your scan showing all is great...so is it time now to be able to tell everyone or have you already done this? I'm not sure i could wait....i am too bad at keeping secrets but after all of this I suppose it has made it easier to keep things private...I am going for my scan tomorrow (Wed) and I think we will be putting two back..i am yet to discuss this with Fs.

Hi Girls,

I am ok, I have been popping in here from time to time to see how you all are going, but thanks for caring...

My FS rang the other day she has changed clinic's from City Fertility Clinic to Queensland Fertility Group.....I am happy with this as I have heard good things about QFG and it doesn't really matter as I would follow my FS anywhere , she is fantastic and very supportive....

She wants me to have another laparoscopy before our next IVF as my ovaries are up to high again, that is why we had a hard time collecting the eggs last time....

So I am starting boot camp again in Feb for 6 weeks , two nights a week, so when I finish that I will go in for the Lap , then we will do our next cycle around May?

I have lost 3kg since xmas, but have been a bit slack with the gym....so I will get on top of that...I am down to 86kg now:yelclap: my goal is 70kg I know it is alot but I am positive I can achieve it...

Thanks Katiesmum, Meltux for caring, how are you both going?

Kali, how are you doing darl, sounds very exciting seeing your little bubba on the screen...

Big:wave: to everyone else....

Oh and I had some exciting news last night, looks like DH and I are going to IRELAND!!!!!! in July for DH's best friends wedding....( I have only met him twice as he moved there years ago when he fell in love on holidays)....I have never been overseas , so I am very excited, going to get our passport applications today.....

Take care and I will be popping in to see how you all are and giving updates on my weight loss..

Hi Everyone

HelenW - great to hear from you. Glad things are going well for you ... a new clinic can be good, I realise it is the same FS (which is great - IKWYM about following - I would go anywhere with mine) but each clinic does things differently, so maybe a change will be good. Ireland sounds awesome!!!!!

Hi Meltux - how are things going so far. How was your scan today? Is your FS ok with putting in 2 embies?

Hi everyone else.....hope your day (and month) is going great.

I went to see FS yesterday ........and I start next cycle!!!! As soon as I get af!!!! I have never wanted af to come in such a hurry in all my life. DH is away (I am o'ing in the next day or 2) so I know there is no chance of a natural BFP.

Doing a short cycle too .....so take lucrin and puregon on day 2 and epu 14 or so days later!!!!

I am so excited!!!!! :smiliedance::smiliedance::smiliedance::smiliedanc e::smiliedance::smiliedance:

helenw - love the avatar....bye Heath!!!:(

katiesmum - yay for starting your cycle so soon! When is Af due????

As for me my scan went well. Fs was happy with a 9mm lining and a dominant follie on the left at 14mm BUT (and there is always a "but" when things are going well with an IVF cycle!) because of the public holiday on Monday, I may not be able to have an FET as the scientist won't be in on the MOnday to defrost for TUESDAY FET!!!:hair:
Unless my LH surge is a bit later (Sunday) then the cycle will be cancelled!!!!
Oh well I knew from the beginning when doing a natural FET that this could happen!! BUt can't help but feel a little disappointed:(

HelenHasTwins
23-01-2008, 18:59

KatiesMum

Meltux - huge :hugs:. CAncelled cycle sux

Well my planned cycle was the shortest in history!!!! now cancelled

FS just rang - got BT results back. I have elevated platelets and they dont want to stuff me full of drugs till its sorted. have to have another test in 2 weeks and if still elevated I will have to see a blood specialist ?????? not sure what all that means..... but very unhappy :hissy: :gloomy: :hair: :geek:

meltux
23-01-2008, 20:02
Katiesmum - oh no!!!!!:hair: What is an elevated platelet? I am soooo sorry that this has caused you disappointment! :hugs: back to you too!!!!

Kittykatz and HelenW - yes.....I am frustrated as I am sure Katiesmum is too esp when you get so excited to be on a "plan"!!! But Dh and I will be able to BD as much as we like now and have a good weekend!! (he he sorry TMI):goodvibes:

KatiesMum
23-01-2008, 20:29
I have no idea. Platelets are a componant of your bloood, and I assume you are meant to have x amount per ml of blood ...and my count is higher than normal.

Dont know what this means. FS said it could be just my body fighting of a cold or something which is why they test again in 2 weeks. If it is still high, then that is a problem and I have to see some kind of specialist before doing IVF.

Not happy!!

and DH is still away, so I dont even have a shoulder to cry on.....and I am o'ing now so no chance of a natural BFP ....:gloomy: :gloomy::gloomy:

:fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed: for you that your LH surge is not till Sunday so they can still do your transfer.

Just popped in to see katiesmum and meltux's news.

Katiesmum: Oh what a bugger! I'm so sorry. I know how frustrating it is having a cycle delayed as its such a good feeling actually moving ahead with treatment. I'm so upset for you. When does DH get back? You poor love.... sound like you need a hug. :hugs: Hope the platelettes thing is just temporary. :fingerscrossed:

Meltux: Oh no! :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed: that the surge holds off for you! Honestly, they should have thought of the public holiday thing and warned you! Sometimes I think these clinics have no idea how stressful these situations are for IVF girls and its not that easy to 'just wait another month'. Hang in there...

Helenw: Yay for more bootcamp! Great to see you back - I know you were so good on it last time. You will lose that weight! You are so patient waiting till May. Good on you - and it will come around in no time I'm sure. Cool about the Ireland trip! I've never been but hear it is beautiful and the Irish are such lovely people. Yay for you! You will have a fab time. Will you go anywhere else while youa re there? I think you'll have a flight stop over in London at least so you should do that.

 Hello to all...

How is every1 going??

Only 1 more week to go til we go back to the Gyno & I can't wait so we can get this ball rolling even faster & further than me just being on metformin.

Last night I had a dream that I did a preg test & I got 2 blue lines...I dont know if i should go & test straight away or just wait til testing day (3rd feb) as it could be a sign. Guess waiting til testing day might be the go as i dont want to get dissappointed in case i get the :bfn:from testing too early.

Hi lovely ladies

Meltux & Katiesmum :hugs::hugs: Am very sorry to hear your cycles aren't going 'as planned'. Grrr so very frustrating for you both. Why can't this stinking whole conception thing be easy??? :hissy:

Larazie.. drop that HPT!!! Come on, try and hang in there and wait (says me :D) Oops hang on a second.. that makes me the biggest hypocrite on the face of the earth. I think I'll shut up now. haha! Serial POAS people like my good self really shouldn't suggest waiting.

Well girls... I have some not good news. I kept my FS appointment yesterday, and just as well I did! It would seem he wasn't totally upfront with all information as I lay recovering post surgery.... See... the thing he had told me was that my right ovary was blocked by endometriosis, which has now been removed. So that was like a big YAY and thought, this has got to have increased my chances and goes a long way to explaining my sudden infertility over the last 3 years...

OK thats good..

til yesterday he explains to me that not only was my right ovary blocked, but also my left tube is completely stuffed. Ok.. 'stuffed' not being the word he used, but you catch my drift. Hmm well DUH no wonder I didn't conceive, i had probs on both sides. The only thing is, the tube can't be fixed.

In fact he even said that if after the next few months I hadn't conceived naturally (of which I no longer hold any hope of), and IF i decided to go down the path of IVF, that they would have to remove that left tube completely to increase my chances!!!

So you see what I'm saying here. If they would have to remove it to assist assisted conception, how or why on earth would they think I could ever do it naturally? And why didn't he just remove it then and there while he was in there? I am SO hurt/angry/disappointed right now. And to be honest I'm totally not dealing with it at all.

Anyhow, thats enough of a rant from me... actually that seems to be all I do on here lately! :o Sorry about that.

I hope everyone else is well, and that things are travelling a little more smoothly with you all.

Take care sweeties!

Hi All

Angelhope ....endo is a funny thing .... it often will cause infertility, but when removed your natural fertility is returned ......in fact lots and lots of women fall pg naturally within 4-6 months after having a lap.

That would be I'm assuming from your right ovary ..... if your left tube is titally blocked then obviously that will reduce your chances a little .... but I am a bit confused as to why they wnat to remove it before doing IVF?

I have quite severe endo and substantially blocked tubes ....my FS said we would need IVF as my chances of natural conception were very slim. I fell pg naturally 3 months after lap !!!!!

Have had another lap 6 months ago and have not been as lucky....but am starting IVF soon ....but certainly nothing has been mentioned about removing my tubes!!!!

PM me if you want to talk .....

Huge :hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs:

kali
25-01-2008, 15:15
Oh Angelhope! I just read your post. You poor old thing!:hugs::hugs:

I don't know enough about blocked tubes to advise, but it sounds like Katiesmum has similar issues so great that you can talk to her. Sounds extreme though removing a tube. IVF essentially 'bypasses' the tubes so not entirely sure....

I guess he didn't remove it while you were having the lap as its fairly drastic and would have needed your permission.
But I wonder if a second opinion might be in order? Or maybe a phone call to him to ask some more questions about why it would need to be removed for IVF.

I'm not sure of your age... are you mid-30s? If so, then speaking from personal experience, I wouldn't leave the move to IVF any longer as it gets so much more difficult the longer you wait. I started trying to TTC at 35 and before I knew it I was 38 and doing IVF and being told by FS that my odds of conception have dropped off substantially. If i want a second bubba I will be 40 by the time we can try again (I'll be 39 when I have this bubba). Hope its OK to say all this....

But: At least you know where you stand now, and why you' haven't conceived naturally. And IVF has good success rates.... so you can now have a plan! Its so hard I know..... sending you lots of :hugs::hugs:

Kali thanks for finding those websites they were very helpfull to me too, i also have both blocked tubes and endo which comes and goes which is strange... so it will be interesting to see what my gyno says leading up to ivf i have an appointment on the 25 of feb

Angel hope my thoughts are with youxxx massive decision you just have to work out how much natural trying you can take with the risk... I am a risk taker, I am giving it till end of year.. Will let you know what my gyno says it will be interesting to see if he says the same thing as yours did!!!:hugs::hugs:

Pippi: I'm so sorry to hear about your BFN. I was reading your diary and was feeling so sad for you. I hope your FS appointment goes well. IVF, if that's what FS ends up recommending isn't as bad as all that (ok, ok... i have short memory... :) ) In fact I found it really positive to be doing something after so long trying naturally and failing. Anyway, just sending you some hugs :hugs: and hope you get some answers soon.

Katiesmum: Yay for collecting drugs!! :smiliedance: I really hope that the BT comes up good and you can start jabbing!

Wonder where the other girls are? ... Helenw, Lilith, Helenmac, Macca.... hope they haven't abandoned us...

I haven't been on much folks. Am still in Singapore working. Don't have internet at home and I'm on tight deadlines so cant get on much to bubhub. Well, 12 weeks on Friday. I have my important 12 weeks scan (for downs syndrome etc) on Monday so feeling nervous about that - but will be a great milestone if all OK as we can finally start telling people. That will be weird though. Only my mum and one of my (four) brothers knows so far. It will be strange as its been 'our little secret' till now.

Well, MS finally kicked in from last week. :barf: everynight after dinner. Lovely!

Am so exhausted too and struggling more than usual in the tropical heat here. I just woke up from a little power-nap here at my desk. Thank goodness I can shut my office door and put my feet on the desk for a quick nap!

Sorry i've been MIA for a while. Trying not to think about ttc and had a bit of a break from it all for the past month. I had a bit of spotting for 3 days around O and pretty sore where I had my tube removed so I was a bit worried and convinced that I was O'ing from that side and it was a wasted month - however, im 3 days late and still no sign of af so fingers crossed.

Congrats everyone who got their long awaited BFP's. Great to see all the purple on the board!

KittyKatz - I know what you mean - but the time passes so quickly, ive been ttc for almost 5 years. Stay positive and full of hope - i was booked in for IUI last year and got my first BFP naturally the month before it! I've also had 2 m/c like you which is making me a bit sceptical and taking the excitement away a bit....anyway, fingers crossed for my HPT tonight and i'll keep you posted.

Grace - Thanks for your message and a big congrats on your BFP:smiliedance:

Wow, good luck!

What has been happening with me? Not much! But i have been having acupuncture and taking chinese herbs and my general and mental health has increased massively.

I'm getting a bit scared getting closer to the TTC for 2 years mark in April, but i just keep telling myself this is only my 5th month of charting and my 4th month of balanced cycles.

My acupuncturist would like me to take herbs for the well being of the baby, I'm unsure cause my Dr. has told me to be extremely careful, will you continue the herbs when your :bfp: arrives.

That is a good question. Mine are in capsule form and specifically for fertility. She said they help prevent miscarriage and are safe in early pregnancy. Because i trust her, i will trust her recommendations. If she has a safe herb concoction for pregnancy i will try it, but she also makes homeopathic drops and sells naturopath products so she will probably recommend something different.

I will definately continue with acupuncture to help with morning sickness and throughout the pregnancy. I am confident with my practitioner, as she has been practicing since the 70's but still continues to study and attend conferences etc to update her skills and knowledge.

That was a novel of an answer!! I guess i will say, yes, but only if my GP/Gyno are happy with it. Thankfully they are all wonderful helpful women who work in conjunction with each other. My own health and wellbeing task force!!

I trust him and he deals with fertility as well, but its just the unknown. My Dr is unsure about there methods. but you can't please everyone. Makes me re-question everything ifykwim.

My herbs are $30 and my acc $50. I have an appointment on Saturday. Yeah :goodvibes:

It is very difficult. And a lot of Dr's a sceptical about alternative therapy. It is all a bit scary though, i do agree (especially after trying so long to concieve you wouldn't want to do ANYTHING to risk it).

My herbs are $25 and consultation $55. i have an appt on saturday too! :D:smiliedance::flowerz:

hi all,

some new names here...I've been away for absolutely ages and ages...trying to just stay cool and not trying to obsess with TCC, plus with xmas break etc etc...before you know it, months have passed.

I've started to spot and AF is definitely on her way...tomorrow is also preg BT, so I nearly made it.

the unfortunate thing is I've just used my last frozen embie...mmmm...not a good spot to be in at my age. I am now 42 years.

I have app with FS on Friday to see what we can do. she has already said there is nothing medically that should stop me from keep going, I always get good numbers of eggs and they all fertilise and all survive thawing...I've had 8 put back over 2 cycles. I have now mustered the strength to keep going but DH is not convinced, maybe FS will be able to sway him.

I've been reading all the great and not so great news. Kali sensational for you....wow you are 1/3 of the way towards seeing your bub. I hope you enjoy the ride as much as I did.

I hope to catch up more often. ciao LG

Hi! I'm not completely new here as I visited for a short while, last year. I left after suffering a miscarriage in May.
We have been TTC since July 2005 and DH and I decided to give it a break for a while. We are not ready for the IUIs again nor to start IVF, but I am back in full Natural TTC force now and have started charting my temperature for the first time. :fingerscrossed: I'm due for AF on the 10th of Feb, can you please include me in the testing. Thanks.

Best Wishes to everyone TTC.
WE WILL ALL GET THERE!! :flowerz:

Hullo lovely ladies

Sorry I've been MIA lately, work has been absolutely nuts, so much so that I haven't even had the heart to get back onto another computer when I eventually get home at night!

It also has taken me a little bit of time to process the information that the FS handed me unexpectedly, and also the links that Kali was kind enough to find for me. Thanks for that darl, very much appreciated that you took the time for me. :hugs:

It has made sense though, I mean I couldn't figure out why I'd have four 'chemical pregnancies' over the past 3 years and no successful ones. There just seemed to be something going wrong at implantation stage? Well now at least I guess I know why? I still don't know why the FS didn't just remove the darn tube while he was in there if its toxic. But I intend asking him when I phone to get the results of my bloods tomorrow (he tested to see what stage of my cycle I was at - also totally unnecessary as my BBT charts show a clear pattern of ovulation). Annnnyway, who am I to argue with an 'expert'??

But enough about me...

A big hullo and welcome to our new and re-newed mummys to be!! You'll find this thread an absolute source of encouragement when you need it, and hugs when you need those too. We hope your stay here won't be too long. :hugs:

Eve.... where are you??? We're all waiting to hear if AF went away on a 9month vacation as we're all hoping?!?!

Kitty & Katies & Larazie & Mel... am so sorry sweethearts. Lots of :hugs:

Ziggy... you tell that horrible AF to go away!!!! She's not to arrive unannounced this month! :shame:

Take care and talk soon.

Adamsmum - welcome back and it's great you can keep going....I'm sure you will be able to convince your Dh...Good luck!!

Angelhope - I'm not sure if the tube could be the cause of miscarriage...good idea to ask your FS as well as question the fact that it should've been removed when discovered! Good luck with everything!!!

Welcome back adamsmum:wave:

Angelhope sorry again about your tubal damage i have the same thing but both my tubes are blocked and one i was told is stuck down!!! Have you tried any natural therapies?? We are going to do ivf at the end of the year, so we have decided to give all aspects of natural therapys a shot!! Just had my first accupunture (WOW felt amazing!!!) treatment today and he is mixing up oriental minerals and herbal tonics for me tonight, he seems to think that my kidney and bowel functions are not working very well and this played a part to why i have had a m/c and ectopic preg! So i am willing to give this a real good go natural therapies can only help your body!!!

So thats just something for you to think about hun!!!:hugs:

Meltux hello hello i was just starting to wonder where you are

Helllllooooooooooooooo in here!! (echo echo echo)

Where have you all gone?

Ziggy, suprisingly, having gone thru two pregs/c-sectioins, thyroid disease and calcium deficiencies, and all the associated needles that go along, I still have a bit of a dislike for them! Enough to not make me put my hand up for acupuncture anyway. I know, I know, I'm a total wuss. I realllllly hope it works for you though sweety, and will watch your progress with much interest.

Hi Meltux! I guess I figured that if the tube is toxic (I think coz of all the fluid thats trapped stagnating in there) and therefore creates a negative environment for assisted conception, that perhaps it could effect a natural conception as well? Not sure, it just crossed my mind is all. How have you been keeping anyway?

I didn't get to speak to FS yesterday when I called, just the nurse. And the conversation went as follows: NURSE: oh, its been marked as 'file', so everythings fine... ME: Oh Ok, so that means what.... NURSE: well it means youre ovulating, thats what you got tested for wasn't it? ME: Well to be honest, I wasn't sure, there seemed to be a lot of tests written down. NURSE: Well you have ovulated, are you on Clomid? ME: No? NURSE: Oh ok, well you've ovulated so thats fine. If you need to know anything else I'll call you tomorrow.

DUH!! I knew I'd ovulated! LOL (Nope I didn't actually say that, but I was busting to!) So helpful.

Ahhhh.. ya gotta laugh don't ya?

Anyway, hope you're all well, and can post soon... I get lonely in here you know?!?!?! :crying::hugs:

Hi Everyone

Angelhope - :hugs: hun. That is really bad from your clinic!!!!! They should be providing much more info and support than that. While I dont always (or even often) get to speak to my FS, the nurses are fantastic - helpful, supportive, very informative about what is going on with me and the tests I need to do, the results and what they mean etc.....

Hope it gets better for you. :hugs:

Hi Meltux - how are things going? Hopefully this cycle goes a little more smoothly for you.

Helenwantsabub - how is bootcamp treating you?

Hi Macca, Ziggy, Kali, Tara and everyone else ....

As for me - I had my BT's yesterday ....and my platelets are still way way high...so now I have to go see a haematologist to sort out why before I can start IVF.

Not sure how long the wait is to get in and see him ....but if I am waiting out more than just this cycle I will NOT be happy!!!!

I thought it was hard enough having to do IVF to get pg, but having to do all sorts of other tests and cr@p before I can even start THAT is just making it so much more difficult!!!!

meltux
06-02-2008, 11:34
Katiesmum - do you have to take medication to bring the Platelets down? :fingerscrossed: this all gets sorted soon so you can move on!!!!

Kittykatz - hows things??? where are you at in your cycle. Wow the Japanese acupuncture sounds good. In my last IVF cycle i had to go to acupuncture before and after ET and WOWZERS it hurt because the needles were turned about 4 times throughout....but afterwards I felt great!!!

Angelhope - Your clinic does seem a little vague at times...but like you said all you can do is laugh (or cry whatever comes first!) What else were you tested for? I suggest writing a HUGE list of questions before your next appointment and go through them one-by-one no matter how silly they sound or how repetitive! This is your life and you need answers!!! Good luck!!! I will check in a bit and send you some messages so you don't feel lonely!:flowerz:

Ziggy - I am all for giving the natural a good go before making any other movements towards IVF. We did this for 2 years on and off and then stepped our way towards IVF, Our first cycle was Nov/Dec. Now we are natural again and then natural FET's and then another full IVF (if needed). I really believe the body is capable of amazing things when looked after and even tho we are going to go through IVF again if needed, the break in between is great for body and soul!! I love acpuncture and knowing the herbs and tonics are good for you help get them down...hehe...good luck!!!

How is everyone else? macca, HelenM, HelenW, Adamsmum, Kazcooke? Hope we are all well:bee:

I am going fine. Af is due at the end of the week. I have had a GREAT cycle this month. I feel good and my body is relaxed and ready for my FET! :babydust2:

Hi Meltux. I am CD4, just waiting for AF to leave so i can "get down to business" although that itself is going to be a challenge. My DH works on a motor racing team and we are leaving for sydney next Wednesday night. I expect to O on saturday, BUT - can't BD wed as we will be on a mini bus overnight, Thurs/Fri and Sat nights we are sharing a room with 2 other team members!! And every other waking moment will be spent at the racetrack, plus DH is going to be so exhausted. My secret plan is to pounce on Thursday morning as we will hopefully get to the hotel before the others... and maybe just some very sneaky BDing in the bathroom? OMG how embarrasing is that going to be!

This last cycle was a dream! I had a few hours of very bad pain, but nothing like what i am used to. AF totally snuck up on me and apart from the hours of pain, i've forgotten i even have them. They are still very heavy, but i am used to "splitting me in half" pain, vomiting, backache, headache and leg cramps and i've had none of it. I love acupuncture!

Hi all. Well I'm in that horrible waiting zone now.
I am usually due tomorrow but my new charting on fertility friend says the weekend. Trying to not get my hopes up but I always do.
My temps are low, not much different from before i o'd, so I'm pretty sure I'm out this round. But still :fingerscrossed:, miracles can and may happen!
Just gotta buy some ear plugs for tomorrow though so I don't have to listen to all the latest baby and preggo talk about and from the lastest UTD girl at work. I must be sitting on the wrong chair in the staffroom. I was sure I'd worked out which one made you pregnant. I bet someone swapped it on me!!!

Bye for now and good luck to all!

Kittykatz, good luck with the bding, if anything it will make you feel like a teenager sneaking around and should be fun:laughing:

Meltux  I am glad you are feeling good and relaxed....

Katiesmum....Hiya, boot camp is going well had my first week...it was bloody hard, it is a huge group this time, there are around 30 people doing it.....

Anyway girls I have had a really weird cycle this month....my last af was really weird, only lasted 2 days and was a bit different...won't go into it TMI.... but I thought oh well that is it for this month.....DH and I have been very busy and very tired a lot lately...well mainly me....and he goes to bed around 7.30 because he has a big day at work....anyway this is really embarrassing for someone who is ttc, but we did not actually bd this cycle:o

Anyway, my af was due 4 days ago, and nothing?...I did a hpt yesterday but it was BFN....thinking OMG if I was pregnant I would be 8 weeks? Anyway I am not sure what is going on, I have been very tired and not feeling the best for weeks now....I just put it down to the exercise....If I don't have af by Monday I will go to the docs?

I am so confused now, maybe af is hiding because of all the exercise I have been doing? but that has never effected it before.....?

Anyway I will just wait and see.....

Hi everyone. Glad to see the thread alive again.

Not so good some of the news though

Kazcooke: I'm so sorry AF arrived. I hope those girls at work aren't giving you too much pain with PG talk.

Katiesmum: Nooo!! I can't believe the platelette count is still up. I was sure it must have been just a bug or something then would be fine. I hope you get in to see the blood specialist asap and they rule out any issues. And most of all... that you don't have to delay your IVF cycle. There is nothing more depressing than the long waiting and uncertainty. When do you find out about getting an apppointment with the haeamatologist?

Helenwantsabub: Woohoo for bootcamp! Well done for sticking it out! Maybe it is the exercise delaying your AF. It sounds like you're working extra hard this time around.

Kittykatz:  I think you guys will have lots o fun sneaking about.

Meltux: Oh wow, can't believe your AF is nearly here and that the FET is so close again! Yes, I have everything crossed that it goes really smoothly this time.

Angelhope: Sounds like your FS clinic is really slack. I agree.... write up a list of questions and take them along to your appointment. My FS was pretty rushed and really glossed over a lot of stuff, but the nurses were generally pretty good and happy to answer questions.

Well, I had my 12 week scan on Monday. I'm 13 weeks today. Scan went really well and all the tests came back fine so things are looking good. Baby was very funny - waved at us and was doing flip flops on the screen. Seemed to be getting cranky at being disturbed. I think DH was excited and its a bit real for him now that the little heartbeat blob we saw a few weeks ago now actually looks like a baby with a face and little hands.

Unfortunately MS kicked in with a vengance and I've been bonding with the toilet bowl. HAve also come down with the flu so feeling pretty yukko.

HelenHasTwins
08-02-2008, 13:42
Hi Kali, OMG 13 weeks....that has gone so fast....the morning sickness must suck but....yeah you are probably right, I think it might be the exercise delaying my af? Are you going to find out the sex of bubs?

kali
08-02-2008, 14:11
Hi Helen. How late is your AF again? If it gets to say, 2 weeks over then I think you should see your GP. Even if it is the excersise, then that's not too get - and you'll want things working properly for when you start your IVF cycle.

Will find out sex. I think around 18 weeks we have a scan so will be finding out then.

HelenHasTwins

Oh fantastic:smiliedance:bet you can't wait to find out.....

Well, I think I am being a bit silly as it is only 4 days late, but I am never late, ever....my last af was really light and only lasted 2 days and (sorry TMI) had lost of cm with it kind of?

I have been feeling off for about 3 weeks now...I did a hpt about 2 weeks ago just to check, but thought nothing more of it when it came up negative, but now my af is late?

Anyway I am over thinking this...way too much, I just think the desire to be pregnant overwhelms me sometimes....so I am going to take my own advise and just wait and see.....but like you said I want my cycles to be fine for when I start IVF again....

Hi everyone

well after having calling my clinic every day etc to try and get organised to see a haeamotologist sometime in the next century....I rang today to book the appt. The Dr wont book an appt till he has the referral so have been trying to speed that up ...... the wait for the Dr is apparantly 8-9 weeks...but he will fit people in sooner if it is urgent so was talking to my clinic to make sure it is marked 'Urgent'

The clinic still havent even sent the referral letter .....and wont till Tuesday as that is when the typist is in to do letters!!!! That will mean it has taken a week to type a letter!!!!!

Then I assume it will be at least a month (if not the 8-9 weeks) before I see the doc, and however long it will take him to do tests etc !!!! AAARRRGGHH :hair: That is before I even get to start IVF.....

My actual FS is absolutely wonderful ....... but the clinic is really starting to pxxx me off ....and I have actually officially only been a patient of theirs for 3 weeks!!! IVF is so time sensitive ..... how am I supposed to trust that they can get the timing of something fairly complicated right if it takes them a week to write a simple letter?

Oh Katiesmum: that's ****! You poor thing! Honestly, these clinics surely know the pain the cause in these sorts of delays. IVF is such a long and drawn out process and the last thing you need is more delays caused by administrative slackness. Grrr! I so hope you don't have to wait 8 weeks - or even 4 weeks. Is there maybe another specialist in this area you could try?

Hi lovely ladies

Sorry I don't have time for personals right now, but we're on our way out again soon (seems like I only sleep in our home these days!)

Just wanted to let you know that I tested this morning... I know I know... I should have waited til Monday. Just didn't see the point, and my temp went up slightly this morning, which on CD13 for me is almost unheard of so I got a bit excited. Anyway, needless to say its a BFN. :gloomy:

Would love to say it gets easier, but it just doesn't, does it.

Big hugs to all, and I'll catch up with you soon.

Hi Everyone....

Ziggy, Helenw - so sorry Af showed!!! It sucks doesn't it?

Angelhope - how are you??? Sorry about the BFN you got but hold in there until Af shows!!!

Katiesmum - Yes, I agree with Kali - IVF is such a long process and it takes so much patience. But that patience is put under a lot of strain when things take longer than they should with paperwork etc....You may need to assert yourself a little more on your next visit....this is easier said than done tho!! Good luck!!!

Leanne - good luck for the 14th!!!:fingerscrossed:

Kali - great to hear from you and that all is well! Apart from the MS that seems to be grabbing you!!!

As for me, Af showed today and it is quite crampy. It is funny that altho we have been going through IVF and fertility treatments, the hope is still there that you may get a natural BFP...and when it doesn't happen...it hurts!:crying:
And to top it off this week, we had a phonecall from Dh's 13 yr old who he hasn't heard from in 5 years, and who I have never met, seen etc....and she wants in to his life! We are both very shocked and confused. Dh is torn and I am finding it hard to come to terms with it. We are going through life together and going through our own stuff with ivf and now this.....it is very hard for us both!!! what to do what to do....

hi to eveyone else!!!:sunshine:

Hi Ladies,

I'm back! It's been a while since I've been in this thread!

Meltux - Sorry to hear AF turned up. :hugs:
What a confusing time you are in right now. I remember you previously mentioning your DH's child. I could imagine it would of been such a shock to hear from her after all these years. Wishing you all the very best at this very difficult time.

Kali - Fabulous news that you are now past your 12 week scan. Sooooo exciting. :smiliedance: I've often wondered how you were going. Great news that all is going well. Hope the morning sickness disappears soon.

Helenw - Sorry AF showed up. Keep up with the excercise  Whens your next cycle hun?

Katiesmum - All this waiting is such a test on our patience isn't it!! It's so incredibely hard. I hope that time passes quickly for your doctors appointment with good results at the end of it.

Ziggyzena - Sorry to hear AF arrived. I hope you are feeling better.

Hi to Leanne, Kittykatz, Angelhope and everyone else.

As for me AF turned up last night HOORAY!!!!
I can start the synarel spray tonight and injections of 450 start tomorrow.

At my BT today I had an awful experience! I fainted whilst she was taking my blood!! It was awful. The nurse couldn't find a vein in my arm so she was trying to take blood from my hand. I remember saying that it was hurting and the next thing I know I woke up with my head in my lap all sweaty and feeling sick! She helped me to the bed and another nurse came in and managed to take blood from my other arm whilst I was lying down recovering. The next thing you know I had to run to the loo as --TMI WARNING!! - I sick from both ends :barf: (if you know what I mean!), I had to sit on the loo for about 15 minutes as I had MAJOR AF cramps. I'm feeling much better now after having the day off work and resting all day.

Oh I've got good news. My FSH levels were very low which is a fantastic sign 0.6 the best result I have ever had!!

Oh helenmac, that is aweful. I feel all clammy and light headed thinking about you, you poor thing. I have major panic attacks with blood tests, so i can relate.

Good news about your FSH levels though.

Hi All

Helen - Huge :hugs: hun. I am excited that youa re finally starting your cycle. Keeping everything crossed that this is the one for you.

Meltux - Huge :hugs: to you too . Must be so hard for both of you.

Leanne - thank you so much for the pm....you are right. I am actually really happy with Mike (FS) and have been with him for ages, so will stay with them ....was just very annoyed at the time.

Ziggy - so sorry af showed up. Hope things go really well with your gyno ....

Hi to everyone else. Hope your all feeling well

Happy Valentines Day Everyone!!!!:bee:

Helenmac - What a terrible time you have had at your BT!!!!! So sorry you had to go through this but the good news about your levels is positive!I have had to have the blood taken from my hand one day and it HURTS!!!! I definately think it depends on WHO takes your blood as the bad ones hurt you and the good ones are a breeze!!!
YAY:smiliedance: for starting your cycle!!!! I am sooooo excited for you!

Katiesmum - I hate waiting at the best of times but this journey REALLLLYYYY puts patience to the test and you are proving to be an amazingly, strong woman!

kali - Yay:smiliedance: for your 12 weeks...man time flies hey? How very exciting for you!!!

HelenW - Now Af is here you can stop with all the worry for a while and prepare for your next month....it is so hard and your other thread about being down is good cause for a couple of hugs your way!!!:hugs::hugs:

as for me..I have had a couple of really emotional and stressful days dealing with DH and his 13 yr old daughter. We have decided to stop contact again for the time being and try and get on with our life plans as before....(is this selfish?)
Sorry to vent here guys and I am sure some may disagree with what we have done but it will only hurt her too....maybe when she is older and we have our family in place it will be ok. BUT she is a stranger and not part of our 8 year life together so far and was never part of his from day 1.
I just feel a bit gutted and hurt by Dh lying about a couple of things....have had to have a valium to sleep..........oh no! The story is of course longer than what I have said and a lot has happened etc...contact from the mother, the grandparents...not all nice...and DH FINALLY had to call and say that this is not right at the moment.....FOR US.
Well off to work and I really need to think about whether or not to still do an FET this month...I will consult my naturopath next WED.
Have a good day everyone and sorry about the long, babbling post!

KatiesMum

Meltux - Huge :hugs: to you. (and some more :hugs:) This is such a difficult time for both of you ....and for your DH's daughter ....but you have to do what is right for all of you. Only you and DH know what that is ....

I hope that things settle down a bit for you before you start your FET ..... this kind of emotional turmoil wont help things ....

Well I had some good news today. The heamotologist rang, and I have an appointment for next Friday!!!!! :smiliedance: Yay!!!! :smiliedance: This will be cd20, so they have a week (or maybe 2) to do some BT's etc and decide everything is ok, and then I can still do the March cycle.

If it does take a little longer, I guess I will be sitting out March as well, but at least having the appointment soon I know that we are moving forward and I will be starting very soon.

Yay!!!! :smiliedance::smiliedance:

Meltux: Oh hun. I jsut read your post. :hugs: I can't imagine what a stressful time this has been for you and your DH. No one can judge you guys unless they are in your shoes. These things are so tough - I hope you and DH get through this as a stronger couple. So sorry to hear you've had to take medicication to help the stress. Please vent on here whenever you need. We are all a very non-judgemental lot here.

Katiesmum: woohoo for haematologists appointment! Yes! Now you are back on track and hopefully :fingerscrossed: all will go well and you can start your cycle in March. Is it this friday (tomorrow) or next week?

Helenmac: Oh goodness, you poor thing! Actually I fainted once at my IVF blood test. I always handled my BTs very well till this one. The good news is that it was the cycle that I ended up with my BFP so I reckon the more you suffer, the more karma owing so the odds of a BFP are in your favour! It is embarrasing through. I felt really silly at the time and kept apollogising to the nurse for making a fuss.

Ziggyzena: I'm sorry AF showed - no it doesn't get any easier. Hope you're feeling a bit better today. You sounded pretty low in your post. :hugs: You will feel better after your appt on 25th (only 10 days away!) I reckon.

Not much to report here. Looking forward to finally get back to Sydney on Saturday after 2 months here in Singapore. Cant wait to sleep in my own bed again ! :yelclap:

Hi Ladies

Things are going OK, I have another blood test on Thursday to check my levels. My clinic have also sent my another 4 BT forms with no dates so I suppose I'll find out on Thursday when to do those - anyone would have thought I'd had enough BTs but apparently not.

I've had to give up coffee as it was making me :barf: (I had the same with Lachie though). I've also gone back to my standard lunch from when I was pregnant with Lachie (salad of 4 bean mix, tomato, spring onion and avocado, topped with grated cheese and salmon and eaten with rice crackers). I really enjoyed it today but know I will get sick of it eventlually - just have to keep a small supply of leftovers in the freezer for those times. I'm also getting cramps which are completely normal but still freak me out occassionally.

I'm booked for my first antenatal appt on 18th March but I'm hoping the fertility clinic might do an ultrasound sooner. I've got a feeling I might be carrying twins but hubby "joked" of there being three . Maybe we didn't need our "insurance policy" after all but it's too late now - time will tell.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Leanne

Hi everyone

yes I am still here ....lurking around

Kali - great to hear from you. So glad you are back.....must have been really difficult being away for so long and feeling so unsure of everything. I am so happy to hear that things are going really well for you.

Meltux - it is good to hear you a bit more upbeat too - and good to hear that things are settling a little bit emotionally for you and DH. Keeping everything crossed for you for this FET. I am so hoping that this is the one.

Leanne - that is soooo great. I am really happy to hear that you are still having BT's to check levels etc  very reassuring....

I hope that you get a scan too ...but I think 7-8 weeks or so is the first time they can see anything anyway ...so you may not get one before you have your first visit. Are you hoping for twins?

I see the blood specialist dude on Friday....so will know more then.

Hi KatiesMum

I wouldn't say I was hoping for twins - but if we are blessed with twins so be it. The thought of triplets scares me though.

I might just sneak in for an ultrasound before my OB appt - I'm currently in my 6th week so maybe next week or the first week in March. ;)

Good luck with the blood specialist!!!

I'm going well. I had my BT yesterday and thank goodness I didn't have a repeat performance as the last time!! My estrogen levels are rising very well and my first scan is tomorrow!!!! Meltux: Good luck with scan today! Pop in and let us know how you go. Are they scanning for your lining? FET just around the corner :smiliedance:

Helenmac: Yes, you too... good luck with scan. Glad to hear the BT went better than last time. I have a really good feeling for you this cycle. I am praying those follies are thriving. Cant wait to hear results tomorrow... Good that E levels rising well. I think they flat lined in your last cancelled cycle didn't they?

Helenw: How goes bootcamp?

Macca: Where are you up to? EPU today???? I think I read in another thread. Just posting here to entice you back. I hope it goes REALLY welll

Not much here. Bubba kept me awake all night with stretching pains. Round ligament something or other pains. Ouchie!

We have our first hospital tour this afternoon. Hoping we like it as I cancelled my other booking with the private hospital. Decided to go private in a public hospital instead. Closer to home. Helenmac, I see my OB for the first time on 7th March.

ooh exciting times for everyone!!!!

I have my appointment tomorrow to see about my blood count. :smiliedance: I am hoping that he will just do some more blood tests and say everything is fine and I can go ahead ( optimistic I know ...but what can you do?) When my FS - who was also my obs last time - checked my records, he said that the last time they did that test when I was first pregnant with Katie, my platelet count was very high too ... so he said it may be just what is normal for me ....which will be fine.

Helenmac - good luck for your scan tomorrow. You sound so happy and posative about everything I just know that things are going to start going right for you this time.

Meltux - how did your scan go yesterday? hope all is good for your FET. Lots of :babydust2: for you.

Kalie - great to hear everything is going well. You must be so happy to be home and settling back in. How exciting seeing your obs and the hospy and everything ....makes it more real.

Leanne - hope you can get in for a scan .... is so exciting to see bubbies heartbeating. When are you actually due?

Helen W - when are you having the lap? How is bootcamp? you did really well on the weight this week :yelclap: - keep it up hun.

 I'm back from Sydney, and managed to sneak in a BD or 2 despite sharing the room with 2 other guys :o.

As katiesmum knows i had a bit of a reality hit yesterday when i realised this just isn't going to happen naturally for me. So I am going back to my gyno to discuss the next step. As there is no apparent reason for this and i am ovulating regularly, she might suggest trying Clomid first?

Maybe she will refer me straight to a FS, but either way I am ready for the next step (including IVF). As i said in my TTC journal, 1/2 of me feels i should let nature take its course, especially since i've put so much effort into acupuncture, healthy living etc and getting my cycles to such a good point, but the other 1/2 of me realises i am 31 this year and i could be trying for years still with no result.

Maybe i will be one of the lucky ones who the threat of IVF scares their body into giving them a :bfp:?

Hi to everyone  I was about to do personals, but have just been given a big job to do, so will talk later.

:babydust2::babydust2: for all!

KatiesMum
21-02-2008, 13:58
Yay Tara ....... I am so proud of you ..... taking that first step is a huge move forward.

Clomid is the first step that most gyno/s and FS's will take, especially with unexplained infertility ..... so yeah it is likely that you will be given that first up.

I would perhaps get that from your gyno if he will prescribe it (and monitor it) .....but get the referral and make the appointment with the FS now as there is sometimes a longish wait.

If the clomid works in the mean time, you can always cancel the FS appointment. If you get an appointment and you are in the middle of the clomid, still see the FS and he will explain all about the next steps (if you need them) and then you wont have any wait ....

Also - I saw your thread in the IVF section ...perhaps go in the Brisbane thread and ask the girls who they all go through ...re your weight issues. Then you can ask your gyno for a referral to the one you pick. Especially also if cost is an issue for you as the costs of IVF vary GREATLY from clinic to clinic.

Hey Ladies,

Just a quick update from me. I had my 1st scan and there are 5 nice large follies and a few smaller ones that will hopefully catch up. :fingerscrossed:

I questioned the nurse about there being only 5 follies and she reasured me by saying it's only the first scan and the other smaller ones could catch up! It's a normal result.

I do recall at my previous two IVF cycles (at my 1st scan) they would only detect 1 or 2 follies at an average size, so this is definately and improvement and I am soooooo convinced I'll have more eggs at collection this time....!! :yelclap:

Hi to everyone :wave::wave:

kali
22-02-2008, 11:23
Yay Helenmac!! :yelclap: :yelclap:

Dont forget that on my last scan for my BFP cycle the nurse told me I only had two mature follicles and that there is a chance the doctor would cancel the cycle. I was devasted. Then they sent me to EPU anyway and ended up with 7 eggs! 5 fertilised and 3 got to blast (I still have 2 frozen from that cycle)

Soooo..... 5 good size follies is a GREAT result! :smiliedance:

This is your cycle!!!!

helenmac
22-02-2008, 14:34
Kali - Thank you! You always make me feel better :hugs: Yes I do remember your nightmare cycle that resulted in a BFP! Its was such a rollercoaster ride for you. I didn't release it was only two mature follies they detected. Was that at the first scan? Do you remember?

Oh I know it is promising I have 5 large ones it's definately an improvemnt. My body seems to agree with the flare cycle and I'm certain the chinese herbs and accupunture has had something to do with it!! :wizard:

Leanne - hope you can get in for a scan .... is so exciting to see bubbies heartbeating. When are you actually due?

Hi KatiesMum

No talk of a scan yet by FSWA - just another BT next Thursday - yesterday's saw my levels increased by over 10 fold which they are happy about. Regardless I'm booked in to see Dr Love on 18th March and he will do a scan then. My cramping has stopped but I'm in pain now from an extracted tooth at the dentist this morning - long story but I'm missing a lot of my adult teeth (never developed) and one of my two remaining baby teeth had broken - pointless in repairing it so out it came (with some effort by my dentist). I'm going to my GP later... I might need to check if there is anything apart from panadol that I can take for this pain (I'm not hopeful though)!

Good luck with you blood tests

Leanne

kali
22-02-2008, 16:23
Helenmac: :yelclap: Glad I'm a good moral booster.
Actually the 2 follies scan was my last scan before EPU so was a much worse position than you are in now. I reckong you're well on track for a good result.

Leanne: ouchie! Sorry to hear that you had to have your tooth out. I don't think there's much hope of pain relief other than Panadene. Hope it doesn't last too long. Bummer about the scan. Do your clinic doing the BT have an US scanner? Can maybe ask when you're in there for the blood test. Or just ring them and ask them.

KatiesMum
22-02-2008, 21:57
Hi Girls

Leanne - I had some tooth problems when I was pregnant, so am posative when I tell you - you can only take panadol/panadeine - and not more than 8 in 24 hrs.

I feel for you .....

Well - not so good news for me. I was being a bit unrealistic earlier thinking that all would be good, I could just have some more BT's and carry on ....

The haemotologist thinks I have 'Essential thrombocytosis' which is a disease where my bone marrow produces way too many platelets. Can lead to clotting / strokes etc and also (weirdly) to excess bleeding. In pregnancy it can often cause early miscarraige, and also placenta abrupta.

I am having a bone marrow biopsy on Monday to confirm this diagnosis - but the results of that will not be in for 3 weeks.

However

If this is the case, as I dont really have many of the symptoms or problems that can occur, basically they can treat it with medication and low dose aspirin and I can still do IVF and have a baby.

A bit numb at the moment ....

dont know whether to be totally devastated that I have this disease and need a biopsy basically immediately and is basically going to be a problem for the rest of my life.......

or to be happy that it is probably something that is easily treatable (though the meds can have some side effects) and that I can still do IVF and have a bub !!!

Hi Girls

Leanne - I had some tooth problems when I was pregnant, so am posative when I tell you - you can only take panadol/panadeine - and not more than 8 in 24 hrs.

I feel for you .....

Hi Ladies

My gum is feeling a lot better today - haven't had to take any panadol since last night.

My clinic does have ultrasound gear but my BTs are being done at a local pathologist not the clinic. I suppose I'll have to wait and see.

Had a bit of a scare this morning TMI warning with what looked like old blood when I wipe but none on a panty liner. I'm hoping it is just that and everything will continue smoothly - I haven't had any cramping for a few days so according to my book it is nothing to worry about - though it still plays on your mind.

Hope you are all having a relaxing weekend.

Leanne

Oh Leanne - that must be a bit scary. You ok now?

Dont stress - many many women have spotting in the first trimester .....

Kali will tell you too when she logs on .....

Thanks KatiesMum - all OK now but I was fairly concerned 'cos hubby has been sailing all arvo and I wouldn't have been able to contact him if I needed to. I'd better get dinner started for when he gets home.

Katiesmum - I'm so sorry to hear about these blood problems you a going through! :hugs: All the very best for your bone marrow biopsy tomorrow and I'm keeping hopeful for the best possible outcome for you. :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:

Leanne - It's always a scare when you see spotting. It's positive to hear that it looked like old blood and not bright red, so that is the main thing. I could imagine, it's now put you a bit on edge until you get your 7 week scan. :hugs: All the very best to you, spotting is very common so I'm sure that's all it is and nothing more. :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:

Katiesmum: I'm so sorry to hear what's happening with you. I can imagine you're feeling really worried about it all. Thinking of you today with your biopsy. Hope its not too painful. Let us know how you go. Scary - but in a way its better to have it diagnosed - even it you weren't trying for a baby - so that you can be getting the treatment you need. Hope it all works out oK.

Leanne: I'm guessing your spotting has stoppe? Please don't worry about it. I had four instances of this kind of spotting. First time I was convinced I was MCing so went to hospital. But the doctor was completely unfazed. He said it was quite normal. It could either be implantation blood (old) - which I had - or 'break through bleeding'. Also happened to me a couple of days after BDing with DH. (poor thing... I banned hin from coming near me for a while after I realised that's what set it off! :p) I'm sure its fine...... I've just hit my second trimester and it seems to have completely gone.

Meltux: Ooooooh! Yay... the big thaw tomorrow! I have everything crossed it goes well! Wednesday's FET just around the corner :smiliedance: :babydust2:

Hi everyone else....

Hey Ladies,

I've been in tears all morning. :hissy:

My second scan showed only 2 large follies. All the rest haven't grown unfortunately. The nurse dosn't think they'll catch up.

At the previous scan I had such high hopes that all 5 would grow together but unfortunately it hasn't happened.

To top it off my FS is away this week and if EPU goes ahead I'll have another FS in his replacement.

Hard to keep possitive when things look so hopeless...:gloomy:

Helenmac: :hugs::hugs::hugs:
I understand how upset you must be. But please, remember that this is EXACTLY what happened to me on my BFP cycle. If you remember I was posting in here exactly the same news that the nurse told me I only had 2 mature follies and that FS may cancel my EPU.

FS went ahead and I got 7 eggs. And my BFP.

Dont despair..... its not over till its over.....!

But I know how devastated you must feel - I was in tears too and feeling hopeless. :hugs:

Kali - Thanks for being so supportive. :hugs:

Actually I thought of you after the scan whilst I was driving to work. It's strange how similar our cycles have been. The fainting and now this! Like you, I hope they find more eggs at collection and hopefully mine results in a :bfp: also!!!

It's been a hard day. A friend from work just brought in her baby and I had to fight back the tears. Everyone knows something is wrong as I had red eyes when I came into work this morning.

YAY for 2nd trimester!!!!

I'm ok. Feeling a bit emotional, AF due this weekend and I have been doing this long enough to know when a :bfn: is on its way. It is also a bit harder as a close bubhubber who is trying for her first got her BFP yesterday. I am so excited for her, just sad she is moving on, i would have love to have continued the journey with her.

I can't get back to see my gyno till 27th March, and will discuss with her Clomid and maybe IUI first. I don't think i am ready physically for IVF yet, really want to lose more weight first.

As for my dream, in Dec i had a dream about a list and it had names on it and the date of their BFP. In Jan there was a name starting with A, then Amylou got a positive, and in March there was Nomsie. So she had her heart set on a March BFP. Guess what - 6 days short of March she just got her BFP!

Sadly, i wasn't on the list at all, although a psychic told me that, with help, i would concieve a daughter in October, so here's hoping!

HELENMAC - :bee: to you. I am so sad for you right now...You have ALWAYS been a pillar of strength for me and I can only hope that I too can be here for you in your time of need! AS I know everyone else her is too!
So sorry to hear your news BUT I agree with Kali and you never know what will happen until after EPU...Good luck and the VERY BEST of wishes for you in this trying time....will be thinking of you!!!!:hugs:
It does only take one for a BFP and it is not an easy road for us IVF'ers!!!! ()

how are we all today?

Meltux - you sound so great. This cycle is going so fantastic for you. :fingerscrossed: it is the one

Helenmac - good luck for Friday. :fingerscrossed: for you too

Ziggy - yay for FS appointment. Is so hard waiting waiting waiting ....but is always exciting to be moving forward.

Tara - I did know that you knew what was going on with me - you pm'd me remember  (BTW - thanks for that...really helped me get my head around things)

Kali - thanks hun. Hope things are starting to settle now that you are back home. Remember to try and take it easy and rest .... the hard part is still to come :D

Well I am feeling a bit better today .... still sore but moving around and stuff. Going to work for a while soon.

Am getting a bit more freaked out by it all. Dr said yesterday it isnt quite as simple as just taking some meds and everything will be ok .....

If I do fall pg, I will have to have injections 3 times a week for the entire pregnancy, and the risk of miscarriage and placenta abrupta is much higher ...:( and I will need to be closely monitored throughout....

He said he is 'easing me into it' otherwise I will be freaked out by it all ....so now I am really concerned about what else?

Helenw - I'm feeling a bit better today thanks for asking hun. Trying to keep possitve. My DH has been so wonderful and a pillar of strength. I'm so lucky to have such a wonderful guy.
As for you, It sounds like a wise decision to have another lap (as nasty as they are!) and to get rid of all that endometreosis (can't spell!). It's just what your body needs in order for the next emby to be a sticky one!! :fingerscrossed:

So yeh...now the tww and the insanity that goes with it. The good thing is I am natural and will have no fake symptoms from drugs etc so will be a bearable wait...yer right:goodvibes:

Hi everyone. My internet has been playing up - I think the phone connection has been affected by all this rain here in Sydney.

Katiesmum: You're such a brave girl. Well done for doing the biopsy. I so hope that its not as scary as your doctor has made out. You will cope though.... I can see you are such a strong girl. And the most important thing is you can still do IVF and have a baby. I hope the next 3 weeks pass quickly so you can get the results and know where you stand.

Meltux: whoohoo! That;s great news! Two munchkins on board. I so hope this is your cycle :smiliedance: I have all my fingers and toes crossed for you. When is your BT date??

Helenmac: Will your EPU be tomorrow? You had some bloods this morning didn't you? Whats the news? I really hope they can go ahead. :fingerscrossed: Please let us know as soon as you hear.

 Helenw, Kitty, Leanne and everyone. Hope you are all OK.

No news here. Just found out we have to spend $3500 on fixing our rising damp problem in our old house. Signed up this morning..... sigh.... that was my matermity leave money  but the house was so wet and mouldy I thought it would be unhealthy for bubs when she/he arrives. So we'll just have to start saving (really, really hard) again.

Meltux - So pleased to hear two munchkins are on board!! YAY!! :yelclap: This is the one for you! Have a lovely relaxing time away!

Kali - Yes I had my BT yesterday and estrogen was good so my EPU is going ahead tomorrow. Oh I really hope they both fertilize and make it to blasto stage. :fingerscrossed: Otherwise I'm going to feel like all the chinese herbs and accupunture was a complete and utter waste of time.

Wish me luck ladies, lord only knows I need it!!
