View Full Version : Nicknames for Bubs
I thought it would be a little fun to hear what you call your baby & why.
My son (Kayden) has a nickname - Frog/Froggy.
My partners little sister is 4 years lod. When we told her she was going to be an aunty, we asked her whether it was going to be a boy or a girl & what should we call it? She thought for a moment and said "A girl & you should call her Mr Frog". It has just stuck ever since. Needless to say there are frog things everywhere!

I used to call my daughter "chook" #1 son was "doodlebug", actually i still call him that, and my bub gets called "lil fatty"
we call our bub... Princess... Puppet or poppet! I have also started calling her baby girl:D
we call our son Baboo I think it was twist of words betwen baby and luca at the beginning and it has stuck.
When Hudson was about 7 weeks old I had chickenpox (yes, great timing!), and when my sister and kids came to visit after it had all cleared up, my 2 year old nephew leaned over Hudson and said loudly "can you say chickenpops?!" DH and I both call Hudson Chickenpops now!! :D

Our nickname is pea (as in pea in the pod).
When we sent out our baby shower invites it started, 'A sweet little pea is on its way...'.
My MIL and I were taling on the phone later and she said that my FIL asked if we were serious about calling the baby pea! He thought with all these famous people calling thier kids after food (apple), he was justr checking.
We used to call our son Chubba Wubba which then got shortened to just Wubba but when he was old enough to talk - Wubba was too difficult for him so he referred to himself as just Ba (bar) - he is now 3 1/2 and most of the time we still call him Ba but he calls himself "Spiderman"!!
Our second son got Ba-boo - I guess it was just the baby version of Ba but most people think we are saying "Bubble" so we have started calling him that now.
for some strange reason we are in the habit of calling her "Dubba"
it just stemmed from me calling her "hubba bubba" and her dad calling her bubba dubba ...
ya .. i know, weird lol
not the cutestname we coulda picked, but it just stuck

Our DD gets a million little nicknames - among the most used are:
Chubba
Chumba-wumba
Princess
Cheeky
Bubbaw (came out of 'Bubba')
Baby Bear

Moo-Ma (started out as Missy Moo, then Missy Moo-ma, then just Moo-ma!)
I tend to use Bubbaw & Moo-ma the most & DH uses Chumba-wumba & Princess.
I used to call my dd chubsy bubsy. She had such fatty thighs really cute. She has skinny legs now so the name doesn't fit - oh well:p
Dh calls our dd bugalugs and I call her buba girl. My nephew who is two always calls her baby rhiannon.

My sons nickname started off as 'bugalugs' when he was little and wrapped up all the time... somewhere along the line, it changed to 'bubajubs' ... then my husband made up a little song about 'Mr Bubbajubs' ... which eventually got shortened to 'Jubs' or 'Jubsy'.
Sounds kinda funny now I think about it...:p
