View Full Version : Is there anyway i can get this baby out

I have had enough and my OB isn't listening to me. I am in constant pain, and not getting any sleep at all. My poor children are suffering because they have a angry and upset mummy all the time.
I spoke to the OB and he won't induce me because bub is happy in there. I think i lost my plug this morning, it was brown with stripes of red (sorry TMI). And my cervix is open, and i'm about 2.5cm dilated.
Is there anyway i can bring this baby on?

Sounds like you wont be far off anyway. What about going for a brisk walk or a swim?
Hope bubba makes an appearance soon :fingerscrossed:

I had DD1 at 35weeks, and dd2 at 36 weeks, so body isn't coping going over 36 weeks.

I'd actually be very careful about a 'really' hot bath - it can mess with your blood pressure, and overheating the baby can send it into distress (ie make its heart beat too fast etc).
It sounds like you're in a pretty good pre-labour ATM, and that true, established labour won't be too far off anyway - hope your bubba's in your arms soon :hugs:
I was going to say a walk .. but .. you dont want to go TOO far from home .. just in case!!!
sex works wonders apparently/??

Sounds like you are close..I know you probably dont feel like it but once that plug is out your cervix is nice and open...Go and have sex!!! In the sperm there is prostaglandins which is a natural labor inducer.
Walk walk walk...always good.
Good luck and I hope you get to hold your baby sooner than later.
:hugs:

Evening Primrose Capsules, grab a bottle, use a sterile pin and prick some holes in them and squirt the oil far up in your uterus. Then have good deep sex.
Eat a curry for dinner, swing on a swing for half an hour and have a glass of wine before bed (and then do the epo and sex thing)
It worked for me

I went 6 days over due with my DS and we tried EVERYTHING- Castor Oil :barf:(the worst one...don't try this unless you are really game!), walks, baths, bumpy car rides, spicey food (anything that gives you the er em runs!) as the movement can stimuate the uterus, my midwives (we were doing shared care with our Ob) told me a different thing every week (secretly I think they were trying to fob me off  ) LOL we tried sex the most!!!!! In the end nothing worked and I was booked in for inducement (Breaking waters) -on the morning I felt abit awful and was 5 cm dialated thus technically "in labour" anyway....

Have to grab a bottle tomorrow if i haven't gone by then.. as the chemist is closed here..
With curry i don't eat it.. so i can't try that. But a glass of wine sounds good, don't know if i could stop after one glass though :p

i drove a skidsteer (bobcat) around our property the day before i went in to be induced... and i was already in labour.
however... i know not everyone has access to skidsteers, so i think a veeerrrryyy bumpy drive is the go!!!
Goodluck!!:fingerscrossed:

Have sex! But apparently the key is for YOU to have an orgasm too. The sperm will help the cervix dilate and the orgasm will get your uterus contracting...
Enjoy!!!

Very true, I was told by a midwife today that when a woman orgasims it realises a very strong hormone into the body!!! Shag away baby!

whats the theory behind having a glass of wine???
justmum
04-01-2008, 11:13 PM
the midwife who took our antenatal classes said, "to bring on labour, go out for Chinese food, play with your nipples and have sex. If it's only an old wives tale, and doesn't bring on labour, at least you will have a good night before the baby arrives!"

That you relax - adrenaline slows down the release of oxytocin, which is essential for labour to begin and establish.

Get hubby to play with your nipples (.)(.) if you can stand to let them be touched
Don't get anxious:no: (yeah lol), it holds off labour.
Relax (lmao) - you need happy hormones.
Plan something really important to do tomorrow (besides giving birth) - Murphy works well:raspberry:

well i went and got some evening primrose oil and raspberry tea leaf, going to try it tonight..
Happy hormones, it would be alright if DH and i weren't fighting... He is frustrating me.. He better get out of his moods before bub is born.. or i don't want him in there.
