Hi All,

I am another new mum to be, due on the 17th of July 08.

Our baby is an IVF bub and we're really looking forward to our 12 week scan which is scheduled for 8th Jan.

I have had two scans already, one at 7weeks as is standard IVF practice and then the OB has done one at my first appointment which was at 9 weeks.

Both showed the baby doing well, I feel really anxious to have the 12 week scan to make sure everything is ok still. I haven't had any symptoms to suggest that it isn't, I guess I'm just a typical worry wort first time mum.

I guess the wait seems so long and because I can't feel bub moving yet, there's nothing to tell that I'm pregnant yet.

Just need some reassurance I guess.

Hi Ladies,

Thanks for the welcome, I have read a lot of the posts here and everyone seems to be really supportive and friendly.

Glad to be part of the group!

Congratulations everyone on your bubs, first or otherwise!

Congratulations on your little one!!!

I am pretty new here also and just been looking through the different links. I am now 12 weeks pregnant and have my first scan tomorrow. Like yourself, I am looking forward to seeing our little one on the screen.

When you don't have many symptoms the scan is the only "proof" you have to really believe it. That's how I feel anyway.

Hope your next scan goes well, let us know how you are feeling and how the scan went.

I am due on the 15th July, personally I think it is the week later but maybe they can give me a more precise idea during the scan.

Take care. J

Welcome and congratulations!
I am due the same day as you, and am having my 12 week scan the same day too!
This is my 3rd, but i had fertility treatment to conceive both my boys. I am sure things will be fine with your bub. It is quite normal not to feel bubs till much later when it is your first. I didn't feel anything with my first DS till about 16-17 weeks, which is still quite early for a first bub.
So exciting isn't it. Only 3 more days till our scans!

Everything you are feeling is so so normal. The waiting the anxiousness esp b4 the 12 week scan.

Gosh 12 weeks feels like an eternity.

GL with your scan next week. I am sure all will be just fine.

Hi All,

Thank you so much for all of your well wishes.

I'm feeling a bit more confident now, am really looking forward to the scan. Will jump online and let you all know how it goes!

We have been out looking at car seats and pram/strollers and after the scan we will put them on layby.

We have a really small car (A Toyota Yaris Hatchback!), that has a really small boot. In order to get the car seat fitted we can't move the back seats forward and the front seats can't move back very far. If anyone has any suggestions for solving this little problem your advice would be appreciated!

Have fun today!

Hi cmorison

Congratulations on your bubby, I am actually due on the same day as you also but as this is my third bubbie and the first two were born my emergency cesars this one will be a booked and planned c section as the risk to give birth naturally is too high so that sucks but I am simply lucky to be able to have babies. So I will definitely be having baby a little earlier. But I look forward to sharing the journey with you. I hope all goes fantastically with your scan on tuesday and look forward to hearing all about it.
Dont worry with the whole small car thing either you get by. We only have a 3 door Hyundai Excel Hatchback and we will have 3 car seats in the back of that. We have never had a problem with it and I actually prefer it over a standard 5 door car only because I broke my spine before I fell pregnant with my daughter and so to bend and put baby in the car seat and then stay bent over and strap him in is uncomfortable and I always whack my head on the car, but with our lil beast I simply put one leg in the car facing the backseat and squat in the car so my spine is vertical, and is easy peasy, not for everyone obviously, and I would love a 7 seater 4 wheel drive but priorities at the moment are extending our house, so till we have bub number 4, being our last, we will stay with our little car.
anyways good luck

This one wasn't fertility treatment though. My other 2 boys were. This was my first natural pregnancy!

Jane good luck in the morning with your scan, very exciting. And congrats on falling pregnant naturally...must be nice to be able to have done it on your own without having to go through all that again.
Yay for sharing the same due day too. Anyways GL
