When you have been seing a doctor, then all of a sudden they tell you they dont deal with pregnant woman and to go and find someone else.

On about 10 december i went and had bloods done to confirm pregnancy. The Doc told me all was goo and to make an appoint for early Jan to organise scans etc. So i did that and got an appoint for 9th Jan. Well I got a phone call the other day for the doctors surgary say that there been a miss understanding and that this particular doctor dose not deal with preganat woman and that i had to look else where. Im like WTF. This is my first baby, have no idea what im suppose to be doing etc, after numeros (sp) phone Calls i got onto Dr Norwood in Morwell. But my appointment is not untill 15th Jan (he is away). This will make me 11.5 weeks. Im concerned thats it getting a bit late to organise the 12 week scan etc. This is all very new too me.

Thanks for reading

You could find out if there's a community midwifery group practice in your area. If you want an NT scan then you are allowed to make an earlier appointment - or you can skip the NT scan, it isn't compulsory, and if the results wouldn't have an effect on yours thoughts regarding termination then it probably isn't worth it anyway.

What you're 'supposed' to do is just relax, enjoy your pregnancy, and after the 'danger' period of the first trimester has passed, then find a care provider whose pregnancy and birthing philosophies match yours, and who will allow you to have the kind of birth you desire.

:hugs: Congratulations on the pregnancy!!

Thats really weird !

I understand them not wanting to do follow ups or shared care but at this stage it should be that you have your scan done then are referred onto a hospy or the likes .... Hrmm weird !

I wouldnt stress about having the scan done a little later than normal etc its only a guideline.

Hope you are ok with your new doctor !

Dr Norwood is awesome! His was my ob with this bubs and he has a very caring bedside manner and his bulk bills too :) He is straight down the line and tells you pretty much whats what in english not medical jargon which is what i really liked about him

Now though as he tries to focus on pregnant women i have to see a family gp which is sad as i felt really comfy with him but i guess they need them more than i do :)

Surely your standard GP could write a referral for your scan, i know that mine did intially then you can take the results to Dr Norwood or ask that he receive a copy?
