Ok, well i am 14 weeks preg with bubba #2 and i am going to be using cloth!!:yelclap: YAY ME!
I have a 'stash' that i won on the GDUNH, but i was wondering what do i need to know about MCN? What does it all mean???:o
I need to be educated!!
I'd suggest that you start by reading the FAQ at ozclothnappies.org and then if you have more questions after that, just ask! :)

Firstly, Congratulations on the pregnancy. And lucky you for winning the GDUNH major prize. A lot of people would be green with envy.
I suggest that you look at the informative sticky threads in this section. Also some 'new to cloth' threads. Then after you've finished reading them if you have trouble understanding how things work or any other question then ask away. There is a lot of stuff you need to know so it would be hard to band it all together in one post but if you have any specific questions then ask away.
Welcome to the love and addiction of cloth :D

LOL its shocking! I got dd all these lovely nappies she still cant wear half of them as i found most were more suitable for over 4kgs, so far 3 fit so i am using flats as well, just a thought for yourself thats all you may need to use something else till bubs gets a little bigger unless you want to waste the money to buy tiny mcns :) only to use them for a few weeks

Thanks PB. I think i will definalty invest in some flats, i am hoping that bubs will be small enough not to fit in some, not like DS who was over 4kgs.
What did you win from the Hunt? I am curious!

Ok i have a mission today. i am going to find out what my stash contains, so you lovely ladies can tell me what else is vital in having a MCN'd baby.
Thanks
p.s Kymmy- i love the hat, i cant wait to use it.
Do you know what is in your stash? Just from looking it seems you have fitteds and pockets. Have you used up that wool yet? It looks lovely.

Ok i finally did it, here is a list of what i have:
a fleece growables AIO nappy.
a wool pocket nappy.
funky AIO Nappy.
a Nappylicious AIO with gussets.
a large AIO.
Swaddlebees 1 size nappy.
2 Mandy Mac nappies.
Classic OneWet Pants.
a Mandy Mac nappy, night nappy.
What kind of nappy do most bubhubbers find essential to have??

What kind of nappy do most bubhubbers find essential to have??
You'll get LOTS of answers for that question :)
I thin the thing to remember is though that even though one person might find one particular nappy to be awesome, another might find the fit on their bub to be terrible.
a fleece growables AIO nappy.
is this one a one-size nappy?
a wool pocket nappy.
is this one ecobubs brand? if so what size is it? we use a medium ecobubs for overnight (my little girl is 16 months) and LOVE it, it takes lots of stuffing and we never have leaks.
funky AIO Nappy.
do you know what size and brand?
a Nappylicious AIO with gussets.
Swaddlebees 1 size nappy.
2 Mandy Mac nappies.
a Mandy Mac nappy, night nappy.
These ones are all one-size, which your bub may or may not fit into when they're just born, as bub might not grow into them for a few weeks, a month, 2 months ...
a large AIO.
What brand is it?
Classic OneWet Pants.
These ones are for toilet training - they just hold one wee, so are kindof like accident-proof undies, but arent nappies as such.
Sorry for all the questions! :)
We used fitteds mostly and our fave was Pookey Pockets quick dry.
Opinions will vary on what the essential nappy is, for sure!

Cuddles n Cloth a fleece growables AIO nappy.
Ecobubs a wool pocket nappy.
Lou-Lou Nappies a funky AIO Nappy. Nappylicious a Nappylicious AIO with gussets.
NicNaps a large AIO.
OzeBaby sage Swaddlebees 1 size nappy.
Sweet Cheeks Baby Shop 2 Mandy Mac nappies.
WAHMania is donating a Mandy Mac nappy.
Wild Child Nappies a dreamy night nappy.
Ok, so there are the brands of the nappies that i have. i am not sure what the sizes are, i guess i will just try them on once bubs is born and if they fit, they fit, if not try another one.
Here is the link to prize page with all my stuff, the one i got is the grand prize #1. http://www.diaperdecisions.com/pages/nappyhuntprizes.php
I am sorry to be such a pain!!
Wild Child is lovely. I have a bamboo night.
Never tried the others you have there.

you're not being a pain at all! :shakehands: we're all here to help you :)
okay, so you have:
Fitted nappies (which need a cover)
3 Mandy Mac One-size nappies
Swaddlebees One-size in sage
One Wild Child Night Nappy (so it gets used overnight)
Pocket Nappies (which need an absorbent insert in them)
Ecobubs Wool Pocket
AIO Nappies (like a disposable, what u see is all you need)
Nappylicious AIO (onesize)
Cuddles n Cloth Fleece AIO (onesize)
NicNaps Large AIO
Loulou Nappies AIO (unsure of size)
So when bubs is born, you'll have 6 one-size nappies which will possibly fit, and 3 other nappies which might if they're small enough. The NicNaps Large AIO I'd say wouldnt fit until your bubs is somewhere between 1-2 years old, depending on their weight.
So to use what you already have, you'll need 2-3 covers for your fitted nappies. You can buy one-size covers, or buy sized covers, which is more expense obviously, but you might find that the fit is better. Or you might not
Did the Ecobubs nappy come with an insert to go inside it? If not, you'll need to buy an absorbent insert to absorb all the wee otherwise the nappy wont work.
Are you wanting to use cloth fulltime?

Mama Anne- you are just fantastic!!!!!!!!:hugs:
That info is going to be invaluable!!!!!
I think i want to use cloth full time. We did with DS, cept we had the terry cloth ones- no wiser on the mcn, for 7 months until he grew outta them.
THANKS TO ALL WHO HELPED!! YOU GUYS ARE GREAT.
i am now off to find some covers for my nappies!
