View Full Version : Army contacts question, can anyone help?

Hello all,

I am trying to find someone who apparently went to Afghanistan last year in the army...i smell a rat and seriously want to know either way if this person is telling me the truth. I don't know much about the army but i called them through the Victoria barracks and they have a name listed there that matches, but i don't know whether it's the same person or not, so i have hit a dead end. Is there any way i can just get a list of soldiers who have been to Afghanistan and check it that way?:o Any help would be appreciated, thanks :)

Unless your family and they are currently deployed there is no way you will ever find out who has or hasnt been sorry...My DH is RAAF and he said they will only give next of kin that sort (ones that the defence member has nominated to be notified) of info and only with just cause aswell.

there are questions you can ask him to see if he is telling the truth , and ways to catch him out.

my hubby seems to be able to pick all the liars out.

Hey sweets :wave: thanks for all your support so far. Well he's honestly done my head in with so much info that i have given up :( He has actually reeled off a whole list of names of people he was with (something he originally didn't want to do) and offered his contact details to anyone wanting to clarify his 'story' so i was unsure where to go after that:confused:

See i don't even know that much for sure :o. I think he is implying he went with his original training group (Singleton NSW), and i was like :confused:.

The fact that this man has been a continual liar for the past 15 years i have known him....and i am trying to help my delusional best friend who is in love with him to see the light if you knwo what i mean :o

My dh went to Afghanistan a few years ago (with a third country deployment).. Where was this person supposedly based? Find out what unit he said he deployed with (I am in the military), and I can try to do some digging for you from 'inside' if you'd like.

It is a pet hate of my dh's and I, that people would claim that people have been. (I will try to look up what medals this person has been awarded - that will be almost 100% proof as to whether or not he has been!).
